A good example of it is when King Henry II said of Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket "Will no man rid me of this turbulent priest?" Shortly after Becket was murdered.
I think the last sentence could use a ‘that statement’ before ‘Becket‘, otherwise it could be interpreted as the statement being uttered after the murder, rather than before (as your example clearly means to illustrate).
