Team USA (Official Thread)

Good grief. Nobody here wishes Paul George ill. Why all the sniping at one another?

I'm neither setting aside two hours of special prayer time for him nor buying replica Paul George voodoo dolls to stick pins into. I bet most everyone here could say the same.

Yeesh. Fuck this offseason shit. Everyone gets too cranky.

People care more about people they know (even tangentially)? Knock me over with a feather.

Why did [insertBPer] waste time wishing for a shark to eat Lebron?
Thankfully he has you to determine what is worth his time and what limits there are on his management skills and powers.
I don't believe in God. It was more a comment on how ridiculously a fucking boo boo, no matter how bad it looked, makes people act like a fucking world leader was assassinated. It's not a world shaping event. It's an injury we, as a species, have had a pretty good grip on how to heal, for quite a while. Get the fuck over it.

so you're saying people waste time fretting over trivial things, like wasting time criticizing wasting time fretting over trivial things ?

Society and friendships are built on a foundation of actual, forced and feigned empathy towards trivial things. I remember never wanting to grow up and end like old people discussing their excruciatingly boring topics.

New Zealand's Haka Dance Bewilders Team USA Basketball

haka.jpg

On Tuesday afternoon, Team USA Basketball soundly defeated New Zealand 98-71 during FIBA World Cup play in Spain to improve to 3-0 in the tournament. Per usual with the Americans, there were plenty of impressive performances on the talented squad, but the highlight of the day occurred before the matchup between the two countries even began.

Prior to the start of any contest in the FIBA World Cup, the New Zealand players have been facing their opponents before taking part in a "Haka" dance on the court. All New Zealand national teams usually take part in the display, which is a traditional war dance challenge for the country.

It's safe to say members of Team USA were not familiar with the tradition, as cameras caught some confused expressions on the faces of the Americans when New Zealand broke out the Haka dance prior to tipoff.
