Team I would most like to meet in a Bowl

Ironic thing is that many OSU fans I know root for Cincy 99% of the time.

Yep. The reality is that most of the people in Cincy who go to UC games or root for them are going to root for Ohio State as well...the fanatic "you're either with us or against us!" Bearkitties just can't stomach that and lash out at every opportunity.

Go over & peruse the Scout UC board sometime.

Diehard UC fans are the same as any other fan base that has a massive inferiority complex.

"Why don't you respect us!! We're Big East champs & in the BCS!! Waaah!!"

...because being the last absolute last pick by a BCS bowl (think about that for a sec, UTAH is going to get picked before UC...and UC is only there because the Orange HAS to pick them) one time does not make you a player in the big scheme of things.

We don't respect you for the same reason we haven't respected any of the other flash in the pan teams that think they've suddenly earned a place among the titans of college football because they've had a good season or two. Dynasties aren't built in a year. Play at a high level for a decade and we'll begin to talk. Maybe.

Teams like Miami & FSU forced their way onto the scene by dominating everyone they played for years. Wisconsin earned respect by becoming a power within the Big 10 conference for a decade and a half. They EARNED respect on the field. When you start beating good teams on a regular basis, expect to win those games and don't crow about beating a team barely in the Top 25 as your biggest victory ever then and only then will you start to earn that respect.

This was me until recently. They had Dantonio coaching there and were a another local team to root for since I cannot get enough College Football. Then comes Brian Kelly who in his first press conference starts talking about out recruiting Ohio State in Ohio. That sure did make me giggle but it set me up for what was next.

UC has a nice season last year but all the sports talk radio and blog sites in Cincy start popping up with fair weather UC fans who apparently want to cut down OSU at every opportunity. Apparently we are "skeered" of the big bad Bearcats because paid them 1 Mil to reschedule a trip from Cincy to Cbus in 2012. This kind of nonsense has the kool aid drinkers puffing out their chests and to be quite frank it sickens me.

The best question is how will these fans recover next year when they don't have 10 seniors on Defense but 10 fresh new starters. Unlike us they don't reload with blue chippers. Let's see if the fair weather fans can handle their rebuilding years. I know they won't make the BCS title game in a rebuilding year. Gee, who did that again?

I used to be one of them. No longer. Fuck 'em.

I said weeks ago I wanted to play in the Orange Bowl (no particular opponent) and I still want to play in the OB. Fredo hasn't whupped us in a fight since the Stone Age, and they could use a reminder that we're still the toughest bastard on the block.

Having said that I know it's not going to happen. Gimme Texas or Alabama. We'll be expected to lose to either one of them. JT's history has been better in the role of underdog than favorite in these types of games, and I think we would represent ourselves better than most think.

Whats the saying? "In order to be the man, you've got to beat the man!"

Give me the best team on the board. Bama, Texas, USC any of em. Methinks Florida vs Oklahoma for the marbles, so give me one of the guys left.

Agree, best scenario would be against AL/FLA if they play a close game. If not then TX. PSU and USC should be playing against one of those SEC/BIG12 teams too. PSU vs USC is a no win situation. If USC wins, Big10 is weak. If PSU wins, USC has a down year. According to the media, SEC and BIG12 are the teams to beat this year, I'd like PSU/USC/OSU against their top 3.

i don't think anyone will make an argument against PSU if they beat USC. USC is not down this year. that defense is sick.

Win one fucking year and they're the kings of Ohio. You're in the Big East, guys. Good job, but that's like winning the shiniest turd competition.

Do the following in an 8-year span and you won't be little brother:

Get to a BCS bowl 6 out of 8 years
Win/share your conference title four years in a row
Get to three national championships in 6 years
Win a national championship
Beat us

I'd like play Alabama honestly, it would be 2 teams who play similar to one another.

And I'm from Cincy and I have some hometown pride for UC until I heard on our local sportstalk radio show, the sound byte of Marty Gilyard from UC talking a whole lot of trash about how their the "big brothers" in Ohio now, and they want to play us to settle the score! I never knew there was a score to settle, we schedule them and beat them like a rented mule! They had one year where they almost beat us, but they didn't! There's definitely an inferiority complex down here, I mean it tells you what your own town says about you when there was a home game at UC last year and in downtown Cincy on our Jumbotron they were showing the OSU-PSU game, LOL! That says a lot right there! And the day of the game, UC played Pitt, and you saw more OSU jerseys throughout the city. Sorry but I'm more Scarlet & Gray than Black and red anyday! :oh:

I am born and raised in Columbus..... I never really have given much thought to the bearcats untill I became friends with a couple guys from cincy and came to realize they obsess with tOSU and think about us alot. From 90's B-ball to current football which is laughable. They are and always will be a stepping stone for coaches. Their coach is gone after this year and back to the cellar. They will never have the money, resources or facilities to compete with the big boys ever. Sadly there is no real commitment from the powers that be in cincy to football.... (that includes pro)
