I don't advocate hard partying, but it was all legal for an 18 year old in my day. That makes it hard for me take it too seriously, preventing me from feeling any moral problem here. And things are looking up - at least he did not run from the police like the TEs of old.

However, I suffered under the 55 mph speed limit. To avoid exceeding the limit, I had to get out and push my car down the expressway, even on snowy days, without shoes. In my more generous moods, I do credit the 55 mph speed limit with keeping me alive.

For those who wonder - prohibition was over before I got to college, and no, I cast no ballot either for or against George Washington.

It might be that this was more than just underage drinking. Most of us did that...those who got caught did something else to draw attention to themselves...guys I know who got cited for this, were actually doing something else illegal, but the cop was nice enough to just write them for underage. This may be what happened here.

Cops usually don't just look for these things without being provoked.

Not saying it's certain, but he very well may have gotten off easy.

I think that is more from a physical standpoint in terms of conditioning and strength. Looking at his body composition coming in, he needed to shift some weight around and bulk up a bit. Give him a year under Coach Mick and let him learn the college game and I think Marcus will be a fantastic player here. He is a willing blocker and we know a tremendous receiving threat, he just needs to develop the tools to enhance those capabilities. Not to mention we are more than fine at tight end right now.

There's been, understandably, plenty of talk over the last few months about Buckeye freshman TE Marcus Baugh. The Californian came to Ohio State with big expectations and after a legal matter that kept him from playing early in the season, rumors started flowing that Baugh was unhappy with his choice and would likely end up transferring out of Columbus. While I don't think speculation on transfers, etc. is something that people should do recklessly, I think it was understandable in the case of Baugh due to the circumstances around his freshman year.
Anyway, long story short, yesterday - Marcus Baugh had his "black stripe" removed - signifying that he'd earned his "spot" on the roster. It's truly an incredible story when you consider it fully, Baugh has turned the corner and will be a big factor in the Buckeye offense moving forward.
Just felt it necessary to share this, as the media often finds so many reasons to focus on the negatives. Congrats to Marcus, Buckeye fans should be very excited about what his talent can do in the future, but more excited about the fact that he's become the teammate and person that can truly be a benefit to a football program.
