TE Marcel Frost (official thread)

Frost could have been a beast

With that said, this turn of events does not come as much of a surprise.

Hopefully Marcel can pull his pants up, keep his nose clean, put his head down in the books, and return next season.

I was also expecting big things from the TE spot this year. Not trying to bash Hamby here, but I think if Frost had been in there in Texas that ball would have been caught (obviously we'll never really know). Frost just seemed to be a monster at times catching the ball and using his big frame to bounce off defenders.

He had the physical tools, no doubt, to be a great player this year. Unfortunately he couldn't keep himself out of the doghouse, which shows a weakness on the mental side of the game.

These kids are going to kick themselves later in life when they realize what could have been. People make mistakes, though, and unfortunately whatever mistake he made is keeping him out this year. I hope he can come back from this next year and play again, but like others have stated- this may be the final chapter in his book at OSU.

It's been pointed out in other threads (but I felt the need to do so again now):

Frost, Guilford, Irizzary, Cotton, Reggie Smith, Hiley, Maupin, Jordan (I hesitate to attach Devin's name here, but still part of the class, and not playing, so I did)

What an overall train wreck the recruiting class of 2003 has turned out to be. It's a wonder our team is where it is with these kind of losses from one group (not to mention Youboty & Whittner leaving early for the NFL), yet how much better could we have been if these guys would have...fill in the blank (kept their noses clean, opened a book, stayed out of back alleys looking to beat up or rob students, etc.)

Again, no intention to throw Jordan or Ashton and Donte into that group for any other reason than pointing out the "losses" the team has sustained from that class for the 2006 season.
