COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two Ohio State football players were arrested early Saturday morning and charged with robbery after an alleged incident on campus, NewsChannel 4 reported.
According to court records, defensive back Ira Guilford (pictured, left) and tight end Louis Irizarry allegedly tried to take a man's wallet at about 3 a.m. Saturday near College Road and West 19th Avenue.
Irizarry and Guilford allegedly punched Whitwell in the face, and Irizarry allegedly threw him to the ground during an effort to take the victim's wallet, according to a complaint filed with the Franklin County Municipal Court.
The alleged victim, Kenneth Whitwell, suffered injuries to his head and jaw area, as well as his right forearm and wrist.
Guilford and Irizarry (pictured, right) are in the Franklin County Jail. They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel suspended Irizarry from game competition indefinitely in October following an altercation. Assault charges were filed in that incident. Irizarry pleaded guilty in January.
Irizarry played in this year's spring game.
