TE Kyle Rudolph (Minnesota Vikings)

my Elder source says he will commit to ND after basketball season is over. He is totally caught up with the 'mystique' of ND and the lines he is being fed about how OSU doesn't use their TE's in the passing game. My source swore up and down that during the summer Kyle was lovin' the OSU basketball/football angle...Don't know what happened...but based up on the info that was being thrown around this weekend, the only way he doesn't committ ND after hoops season is if his visit to OSU blows his visit to ND away...given his current state of mind, that's just not going to happen.

sorry I gave false hope earlier in this thread. I only report what I hear and, more often than not, I verify it from a third party before I post it...I didn't this time because I trust my source...he was fed the bull, too.

Mia culpa.

It happens! We can't get 'em all, and like JT says, if you do, you aren't recruiting the right ones.

Hmmmmm. Where to start.
Well, For as long as I have been a contributor on this forum, I have found more often than not, that a high school recruit can be like a pendulum. It isn't over until his name is signed on the dotted line. Kyle has alot of time and visits to sort things out. His parents will be giving him advise of what he has seen and hear. I know I would for my kids. There is alot to absorb. Some of it true and some of it bull. One thing is for sure. Tressel is a straight shooter. I don't believe that he would resort to unacceptable means to get a recruit. He will be upfront with Kyle. It is way to early in the scheme of things to count a recruit out. It may end up being that he attends another school, but we all will have to wait and see. I have seen the best recruiting guru's be wrong. I am not a guru in this. But I do know that we must be patient and see. I have had to learn that the old fashion way. Hopefully Kyle will take a good hard look and see if OSU fits what he's looking for.
Just my .02 cents

Wouldnt you have to win a bowl game every so often to have any mistique?

Not if it is a losing mystique... Maybe the mystique is from why they've been so bad lately, even with all the media attention, TV contract, high-profile coach, etc...

Kyle is definitely a great prospect, and I wish him well wherever he decides is best for him to go...
