TE Kyle Rudolph (Minnesota Vikings)

While out TE usage is constantly a work in progress, he has to like the depth chart here much better considering ND has taken a top TE in each of the last 3 years i believe (Reuland and the kid from NJ this year come to mind)

According to the article he says they are telling him he will play early... They recruited two TE's two years ago (Reuland and Yeatman) that both redshirted, and they landed Ragone last year as you mentioned. Those three will be at most sophomores when Kyle steps on campus...
Can't blame his feelings about the way they use the TE vs. us though... They are playing that factor up and aren't wrong to do it... We just need to combat that with the fact that we haven't had a really solid pass-catching TE that has been here/performed here in awhile...

he should ask ND how often they use 2 TE sets. If the answer is anythung but rarely at most, he's being fed a line.

Cant get too disappointed... we clearly dont utilize the TE position in a receiving role like ND does...Kyle has every right to be concerned... although I truly believe if we land a player of his caliber, we'd find ways to get him the ball..

I think it'd be a shame for either of those kids to skip out on tOSU because of the play-calling. I think Tressel does a great job of adapting the offense to fit the players. I'm very confident both of these guys would have the chance to play their game at Ohio State.
On that note, good luck to both Kyle and Jake in the recruiting process and their decisions.

If Louis I. would have still been involved with the program, this wouldn't even be an issue! We just have not had a field stretching TE!!!! Would really like one that could clean out the middle of the field for Wells.

:oh: GO BUCKS! :io:

From Irish Eyes...a pretty thorough breakdown of Kyle's game. Also a little compare/contrast with the other top TE ND has offered, Blake Ayles. The author calls him the perfect TE for the ND system.

my Elder source says he will commit to ND after basketball season is over. He is totally caught up with the 'mystique' of ND and the lines he is being fed about how OSU doesn't use their TE's in the passing game. My source swore up and down that during the summer Kyle was lovin' the OSU basketball/football angle...Don't know what happened...but based up on the info that was being thrown around this weekend, the only way he doesn't committ ND after hoops season is if his visit to OSU blows his visit to ND away...given his current state of mind, that's just not going to happen.

sorry I gave false hope earlier in this thread. I only report what I hear and, more often than not, I verify it from a third party before I post it...I didn't this time because I trust my source...he was fed the bull, too.

Mia culpa.

Dont worry about it.

You are right with your predictions far more than you are wrong.

EDIT: These kids probably change their mind everyday.

Its recruiting. It happens.
