JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jake Stoneburner is coming back, and it didn't take much convincing from new Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.
On the final day before Meyer's imposed Twitter ban goes into effect, Stoneburner used one of his last Tweets to make an important announcement about his future.
"Twitter=Done. Me=back for senior year, leading this team, and shocking the world!! #gobucks #12-0," Stoneburner posted Tuesday afternoon following a 7 a.m. meeting with Meyer and his new coaching staff.
Stoneburner, a redshirt junior out of Dublin Coffman, seemed to be leaning that way after Ohio State's 24-17 loss to Florida in the Gator Bowl. He did admit, however, that the NCAA's postseason ban for next season caught him off-guard.
"I'm not 100 percent sure," Stoneburner said Monday when asked about his return outside Ohio State?s locker room at EverBank Field in Jacksonville.
"The bowl ban is just one extra game. It's just one extra game and coach Meyer will have us ready no matter what with 12 games next year."
The 6-5, 245-pound tight end led the Buckeyes with seven touchdown catches during the regular season, but did not play in the bowl game because of an injury to his left knee. Stoneburner said he hurt it during the Michigan game and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery right after the regular season.

Jake Stoneburner has shown tempting glances at his talent since arriving at Ohio State, but even the Buckeye tight end would agree he hasn't quite made the impact on the stat sheet he had hoped. With a new offense in place and his senior year beckoning, Stoneburner hopes to finish things on a high note.

Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner had seven touchdowns last season -- on 14 catches.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jake Stoneburner had one of the strangest stat lines in all of college football last season.
It said as much about his potential as a tight end as it did about Ohio State's inability to maximize that potential in an offense that could kindly be described as pass averse.
"It got kind of crazy," Stoneburner told ESPN.com. "Every time I had a catch, I'd score. It's weird. Only 14 catches and seven touchdowns, but I'll take seven touchdowns any day."
The 50 percent touchdown ratio is mind-boggling when you consider Stoneburner's 14 total receptions tied for the team lead.
Stoneburner set the tone for an odd season with four receptions, three of which went for touchdowns, in Ohio State's season-opening victory against Akron. He recorded four catches the following week against Toledo, three of which amazingly didn't wind up in the end zone.
Then he went catch-less for two games. He recorded two receptions for eight yards in the Big Ten opener against Michigan State. The following week, his only reception, a 32-yarder, went for a touchdown at Nebraska.
Stoneburner finished the season with three one-catch, one-touchdown performances.
"I guess you could say I had a knack for getting in the end zone," he said, "but we also didn't really throw it that much."

Tight Ends
1. *Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame, 6-6/251
2. Joseph Fauria, UCLA ,6-7/258
3. *Zach Ertz, Stanford, 6-6/249
4. Jake Stoneburner, Ohio State, 6-5/245
5. Philip Lutzenkirchen, Auburn, 6-5/250
There will be more tight ends for scouts to choose from in next year's draft. The athletic Eifert and Fauria are potential first-round picks, while Ertz, Stoneburner and Lutzenkirchen are all likely to be starting in the NFL sooner than later.
SHAWNEE HILLS, Ohio - Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner was arrested on Saturday and was charged with obstructing official business.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Stoneburner was arrested sometime Saturday by the Shawnee Hills police.
The circumstances of his arrest were not immediately released.
Stoneburner, who attended Dublin Coffman High School, is a tight end and was listed at the top of Urban Meyer's first depth chart of the 2012 season.
