TE Jake Ballard (Super Bowl Champion)

I've been wondering this for quite a while now (since he commited, basically), but are we bringing him in as a TE or an OL? I think he'd be FANTASTIC at both, but I'm unclear as to what position he'll play.

I also know that Tress likes to bring in TE's to play other positions (i.e.- Chad Hoobler, R.J. Coleman, Kirk Barton)

I think he initially is being brought in as a TE because of the depth, but he could grow out of that position a la Eric Winston at Miami.

Any news on Jake's availability for the regular season finale tonight?

We are at the end of that rehab window that was advanced right after he got hurt but I have not heard how he is progressing.

The Panthers have clinched their division and a playoff bearth so maybe they will save him for the playoffs?

Jake Ballard

Springboro's own Jake Ballard missed four games during the regular season with a hamstring injury but came back in time for the playoffs and was back to his old self by the time the second-round Region 8 match-up against Miami Trace came around. Ballard caught a few passes at tight end and wrecked havoc on the defensive line for the Panthers in their 38-19, come-from-behind victory. Ballard verbally committed to Ohio State in the summer and is being recruited to play tight end, initially.
