TE Gee Scott Jr. (Official Thread)

I'm in the middle of yet another move, so I have nothing like the time to look up the details, but there is context here that makes this story even better.

Gee Scott Sr went through a difficult period, and was helped out by a Buckeye whose name I forget (those pesky details), but I'm pretty sure he was playing for the Seahawks at the time. That's why the Scott family are Buckeye fans if memory serves.

Here's Scott Jr proving that his father raised him to understand where he came from and how much good an act of kindness can do. Paying forward what another Buckeye payed forward to his father.

Like so many rooms at the Woody, the room he's in is crowded with talent. Here's hoping that he contributes in more than just Spring Games; his story now including this gem, is one of the best I can remember.

You’re correct. Rob Sims let Gee Scott Sr. live with him while he was homeless at one point.

I love when we see stories like this about our Buckeyes doing great things in the community. The world our kids are growing up in is a crazy place and if someone has the platform like Gee to get through to just a few of those kids and they take his message and run with it, our country is a better place. Keep up the good work young man, on and off the field. Good things come to those that wait. I think he's destined for a great finish to his career @ OSU.

TE GEE SCOTT JR.
Even with a credentialed pass catcher in Jeremy Ruckert at the position, Ohio State still found a way to seldomly target its tight ends last season. When top-15 wide receiver recruit Gee Scott Jr. opted to switch to the position in 2021, fans salivated over the possibility that he could change all that.

Scott won’t be the top tight end on the depth chart in 2022, with Cade Stover and Mitch Rossi appearing to hold the two top spots entering the season, but his potential as a change-up playmaker at the position is still tantalizing. Should Scott’s blocking ability continue to improve, over the course of the season, perhaps we’ll see more of him than ever before this year.

I really think Scott can add even another option for this offense going forward. He's been playing much more lately and his blend of size and speed could certainly be utilized.

Samesies. He is a true talent and offers a different skillset than any other player on the roster imo. And when he gets in, defenses are not going to be paying attention to him much with the rest of the weapons we have, so I see Gee having a huge play in a big game down the stretch when we need it.
