TE Cade Stover (Houston Texans)

C.J. STROUD NAMED A SEMIFINALIST FOR DAVEY O'BRIEN AWARD AND FINALIST FOR JOHNNY UNITAS GOLDEN ARM AWARD, CADE STOVER A SEMIFINALIST FOR JOHN MACKEY AWARD

Meanwhile, Stover was named one of nine semifinalists for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the best tight end in college football.

The fourth-year Buckeye accompanies players like Georgia's Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington, Purdue's Payne Durham, Utah's Dalton Kincaid, Iowa's Sam LaPorta, Notre Dame's Michael Mayer and Texas' Ja'Tavion Sanders as semifinalists for the award.

Stover's emergence has made him a legitimate receiving threat in the passing game, in addition to his stellar blocking in the running game. He is currently third on the team with 29 catches and fourth with 366 yards and five touchdowns and is only 10 receptions away from entering the top five for all-time catches for a tight end in program history.....

Cade is catching a lot of heat over the drops and earlier in the season he was making those catches. I believe that he's also playing hurt, other than the left elbow which has effected his blocking some. Watch him run the route in the end zone. He is very obviously slower than he usually is. His running looks labored and I dont know for sure but it looks like maybe he hurt his back or legs. The run he made in the PSU game looks so different than the routes he was able to run on Saturday. I'd just like to know if he has been hurt like Henderson has but he's gutting it out because he both wants to and has to. Hard to think he went from diving catches all year long to weak hands and drops in every game after without an issue somewhere with health.

He looked slow as dirt during the Maryland game as well. He also disappeared from the passing gameplan mid season which may mean nothing as we do that regularly

I appreciate Cade trying but it’s up to coaches to realize his physical limitations, due to skill, injury or otherwise. They are glaring and they had been for weeks. It’s a indictment that they continued to rely on him to the extent they did.

I hope he is healthy and up to early season Cade on Saturday.
Yeah it feels like a lot of this year was Doctors say he's good so let's play him rather then being smart about it.

Thoough with the RBs at least they were clearly rotating them week to week to try to get them healthier

What in the freaking hell is going on with this staff this year? Kids' arms and legs falling off, clearly not able to handle their assignments and the coaches are trotting them out there like lambs to slaughter.

That's not toughness. That's just recklessness and foolishness.

This is on the staff. It's got nothing to do with the players. And it's also embarrassing that players are being asked by the media to explain this.

I don't know what it means when people say that Coach Marotti is the "best in the business", but it sure as sh*t doesn't mean riding players who are injured into the ground, humiliating them in front of their team members, their families and the fans. Sh*t ain't even close to being right...
