TCUN BMW Thread - New Visitors Check This Thread Out before Posting Elsewhere

This fucking guy. He damn well knows anyone important is going to sit tcun's bowl game no matter what, but this could potentially hurt Ohio State in the playoff. Also, the motherfucker who never talks about off-field stuff unless Ohio State is involved.

And that shit right there is why he can't turn the corner back into Buckeye good graces. Fucking pussy

I'd have argued against it until yesterday, but Day is obsessed with beating them at their game. I've come to the conclusion that he should stay for another year (barring maybe a disaster in the cfp), but the people in a position to get into his head have to turn that mindset around. Hey, everybody loves Woody ball, but it's out of style for a reason. Call us soft all you want, but if we play basketball on grass and beat you by 30, it's a hell of a lot better than what I watched on Saturday.
I've noticed this for years. He takes shit personally and then tries to prove them wrong. Now it's not always a bad thing it's part of what drive him to replace the D-coordinator with his own guy when he was hired. but being called not tough has become his white whale he's tried to disprove with harbaugh/moore style smash. He's repeatedly run into 8 or 9 man boxes in the 3rd and short and then blamed execution rather then maybe don't run into that.

2018-2019 Day would have thrown all over them and then laughed at them when they tried to say he wasn't tough and should play manball to beat them. 2024 Day tried just that to prove a damn point instead of doing what best helps him win the game

One of the talking heads (Rothman) brought up a good point. Stop putting them in our own heads. Stop with the stupid blocking out of the letter "M" all over campus. It's not even some longstanding tradition. I have bread on top of the refrigerator that's older. Stop with the ttun. That one's a little harder since it dates back to Woody. In any event, quit making them out to be more than they are. Take it seriously. Respect The Game. Just don't make them this mythical creature that haunts our thoughts.

This. I think if OSU had treated that game like any other B1G conference game, the outcome would have been very different.

I fully agree we probably have no one but ourselves to blame for having now a second mental block for beating these guys.

Except that was the Cooper approach, and that didn't work out either. I think they need to let the kids jump into mirror lake.
Some of it is alright. Some of it needs to go. The "M" thing is just fucking childish, and that's what we should start with.

As for within the team , a portion of practice every week devoted to cunt is fine. Find a balance where you focus on them without letting them in your head to a debilitating degree.

And Day needs to find this guy to talk to him about 21-23.

There's nothing I can add that hasn't already been said in the thread, so I'll rant a bit from the airport bar.

I joined the site in 2008 after the BCS loss to LSU, second in a row. My Fandom has waned quite a bit accounting to not being an alumnus and having not lived in or around Columbus in 25+ years. Still watch most every Saturday and peruse the boards during the season.

Frankly for me, it hasn't been a lot of fun to watch Buckeye football in a while. I feel like I've seen more big game duds than positive big game showings. Anecdotal, sure, but hard to deny feelings wise. Obviously, that's why 2002 and 2014 are so special. It's tough to win it all.

From section A27, about halfway through the third quarter, it was like watching a slow motion car wreck. You know what's going to happen, you can't stop it, you can't look away. I'm in the stadium, I can't change the channel. It sucked. The crowd was good, but the stadium experience wasn't great. I missed the only fucking touchdown right in front of us because the line to piss was so long. God dammit.

Cold and sober wasn't the way to go through that game. We cheered but didn't have a lot to cheer about. Stayed til the end and left disappointed. I didn't get all the analysis live obviously, but you could tell the team just wasn't crisp. You knew, in the 'Shoe, someone was trying to prove something when you looked at the rush yards on the scoreboard. I knew exactly what would happen with 7 minutes left. Chip shot FG to win it. It was so obvious and no matter how many 3rd downs you scream for you can't stop it. Slow motion car wreck.

Weird to say but it felt far easier to come to terms with in person. If I was at home I'd probably still be pissed, but I kinda realized what was going to happen when the second half kickoff bounced. I felt it when the "O" flag knocked the hat of the trombone player in the opening festivities. Not scoring a TD on the first drive. The collective groan after the first missed FG. The second missed FG after the Downs INT. Sleep paralysis... "Turn the wheel!..." Crash...

There's nothing much else to say. I'll watch the playoff with no positive expectations. I'm just glad I didn't listen to any of the preseason hype because I've learned. Too much success and too few results to align my hopes. Hopefully we get a BMW thread for the postseason cause I'll be there, even though it's against my nature to be miserable. Now I really sound like I'm from Ohio. Go Bucks.
