That would be my preference if he hadn't grown up a hard core scUM fan. He attended OSU only because his dad forced an ultimatum on him. I think he's loving his life in that state up north, if he's still with the Lions. Weird.
I think we can forgive him for childhood mistakes. The guy has bled Scarlet & Grey his entire adult life.

Another piece of evidence that Day played not to lose:

Anybody surprised they didn’t for it on 4th and 3 from scUM 38 on opening drive of 2nd half? Michigan would have. Or gotten 3 since they had a kicker
Then again we pinned them at the 1 with the punt and then forced an INT.

Bottom line is our offensive plan was terrible. Go get touchdowns and never play for a field goal. At the 16 and we don’t take one shot at the end zone with JJ?

JJ was targeted 7 times all game… he should be target 7 times per half. He should never go for less than 10 catches and 100 yards are you kidding me?

One play doesn't get it's due attention amidst all the stupidity:

Henderson's botch of a return on the 2nd half kickoff. They know it's against the wind. It basically signaled that the 2nd half was going to be just like the first.

My comment at half-time that Henderson shouldn't touch the ball in the 2nd half was dinged. It was 100% correct.
I was the one that dinged your post, because it was bullshit. If you're trying to say you were prescient on the kickoff, then that's an even greater amount of bullshit.
To clarify, the reason why I didn't agree and still don't now is for two reasons 1) the man is a captain and leader of the team who always puts the team over himself and 2) he's just as lethal as a pass catcher when/if the circumstances arise.
Yesterday was no fault of Treveyon, but instead, the plan that was an abysmal failure.

There wasn't a single key screen RPO thrown. What in the everlovin hell happened to that play type? It's literally disappeared and that makes no sense whatsoever...
Something I thought about this morning: What ever happened to the pop/push pass play? We used to run that every game with great success.

I'm old enough to remember Paris Campbell catching one of those and zooming untouched for 80 yards to the endzone in The Game.

Why the hell was that play removed from the playbook?

Because the speed option to the short side 5 yds behind the line of scrimmage works so well.

Doesn’t matter.

Having a kicker who is better than a coin flip to make anything more than a PAT is a nice advantage. Anyone blaming Fielding is channeling their anger at the wrong person, Day is the one who looked at the kicking situation and thought it was all good.

Yes, the guy who is elite in open space as a checkdown player, and at creating explosive plays from tiny creases, shouldn't touch the ball because a swirly kickoff was botched.

In favor of a ball carrier who is steadier at playing in a phone booth but not as explosive.

And that phone booth features the best defensive tackles in america for the past 3 years. Now tell me how many top-20 picks will be surrounding Treveyon on the perimeter when they're taking away Jeremiah & Egbuka deep from a QB struggling to throw precisely and on time.

Brilliant logic there.

p.s. Caleb Downs did the exact same thing as Treveyon on a return, which unnecessarily buried OSU deep on a return. I'm sure you have some absurd overreach from that play too, though I doubt it involves benching Caleb.

Also has been the best blocking running back going all the way back to Zeke.

Well Caleb Downs plays defense, so not sure where that logic comes from.

You can't have it both ways. You can say Ryan Day blew it with a shitty game plan - oh, but thank goodness our leader was able to carry the ball repeatedly for 2 yards a pop. And also screw up royally on a kickoff return when all you have to do is catch the ball and signal fair catch.

Judkins and Henderson basically had the same number of carries (12 versus 10). That is a total joke. But sure, gotta give to the veteran Buckeye because that's the "nice" coaching thing to do. Think Meyer would have done that?
