Targeting/Pussification of football

Shaun-Wade-Targeting-Lawrence.jpg

End of story.
Honestly, I can’t say for sure that the moment of impact has taken place as of that snapshot.

There is a lot that happens between these two instants, but it’s not hard to argue it as Wade’s head going upward more than forward.

It has been longer than 4 hours. When does this go away? Should I call my doctor?

On topic, the rule needs changed as the top of his helmet hit first, but fuckboy QB braced for impact and got low, real low which is why the helmets hit. That is not a defensless player in my book (which means dick). His BS closing his eyes acting as if he had been knocked out is what sealed the targeting call from some dickhole nowhere near the play. Likewise, the scoop and score.

I feal if it had been against LSU or Clemson the Mothership would still be pissing about it like we are.
I agree with you. I also don't think that they began letting the replay booth add targeting fouls that weren't flagged live for bang-bang plays like Wade's, they added it so that blatant targeting fouls that were missed could get caught.

Agree. The fact that the on field crew did not call it, called JK's a TD (this one doesn't bother me so much), and let the scoop and score count (which it should) is why that fucking goat fucker replay guy should never be allowed near any sporting event.

Still, Klatt, who believes the targeting rule initially achieved its intended purpose but has since become an inconsistent issue, asked Day to share his thoughts on targeting and how he would alleviate the problem moving forward.

"It has to be common sense," Day said. "We're getting too much into the weeds on this that we've lost where we started on it. And what was the reason we did this? To protect young men. If someone is launching at someone's head and they're unconscious on the ground, that's not what we want here. Sometimes we get into these slow-motion things, and we get so caught up in the little details. It's not realistic, sometimes, watching it in slow motion. I think there has to be common sense.

"I think we have to trust the referees on the field and what they see. They are there for a reason. If it's egregious one way or the other, then that's where instant replay comes into play. But I think right now we've done is, we've just put so much into the instant replay that what you see in a slow frame isn't really what's going on in the field. And we have to go back to the common sense of why the rules were even put in place."
