I was expecting immature, predictable humor. I was expecting it to be less funny than advertised. I was expecting Will Ferrell's humor to be featured in the movie.

I was 0 for 3.

This was the worst movie I have ever seen in a theater. Many people my age adore Ferrell and cut him huge amounts of slack. Very rarely did anyone in the audience laugh. I had to wait over an hour for my first legitimate laugh.

Remember the trailer? Those were the only funny scenes, and some weren't funny when they weren't truncated to fit in the advertisement.

If you are at another movie, sneak in for the credits... they are humorous. They live up to all 3 of my expectations, unlike the movie.

i heard it was funny all way through the movie. i haven't saw it, but i have been wanting to, even though i hate nascar!
it's one thing if I wasn't laughing, or if the fellow viewer demographic wasnt my age. But it was almost exclusively HS/college viewers, and it was rare to hear laughter in the theater.

Note, I'm a HUGE will ferrell fan. You have to try hard to keep him from being funny.

I saw it Saturday, enjoyed it, and the theatre was full of laughter. I guess you may have to consider that the opening weekend is going to draw out more people that the film appeals directly to (i.e. Will Ferrell/NASCAR fans), but I'm not necessarily either and found it pretty damn funny. To each his own I guess, or "When in Rome..."

So, you were expecting it to be less funny than advertised and it didn't deliver. So you're saying it was more funny than advertised?

No one in the theater laughed? Were you with all your college buddies?

I saw it Saturday, also saw Little Man that night(Went to South Drive-In). I thought it was funny. Not as funny as I expected it to be, but still it was a pretty good movie and a good laugh.

Little Man was good too. Better than I expected it to be.

I haven't seen Talladega yet, most of my friends said it was all right.

The consenus is that Clerks 2 is the comedy to see for the summer.

Well, Little Miss Sunshine is getting great reviews, it just hasn't opened up nationally yet.

Despite the clever thread title, I loved the movie and thought it was consitantly funny. I also think they did a clever job with advertising certain humorus parts, but then expanding on them in the movie, such as the getting the knife out of ferrell's leg.

Alright Professor Dickweed, I'm gonna have to disagree with you...

I had this same experience. I saw Talledega on opening night and the entire theatre was going nuts, of course it was at the Arena Grande, so smaller theatres than say Lennox, but all in all I thought the movie was hilarious.

I haven't seen all of 40 year virgin, but it reminded me a LOT more of that than anchorman.

Those of you who seemed to love it... was the french rival funny? He was a big reason why I didn't find the movie funny at all.

poor wording... should have said I expected an overrated movie that still had some humor, and didn't find much of any

I was not, but a lot of others were in groups of 4+ with college-age buddies.

I have no intention of seeing this movie. Although Will Farrell has his moments, I'm not a huge fan. To me, most of his stuff, and the previews for this movie, would be funny to a bunch of eight and nine year old boys who are used to watching cartoons.

I just find Will Farrell and actors of his ilk boring and childish and not in the least bit funny.

The movie wasn't a top 3 Will Ferrell movie, but it's entertaining enough. It did leave out what seemed to be a funny line about "jelly and women" that it shows in the preview. And Clerks 2 is the funniest movie of the summer so far.
