Super Bowl XLIV: Saints 31 Colts 17 (F)

Congrats to the Saints. I have nothing against the Saints unlike some of the other teams that could've been here in their place. I'm sure their fans are loving this.

New Orleans played a damn near perfect game. Every chance they took turned to gold, even when it didn't look like it at first. Indy on the other hand - made a bunch of really small physical and mental mistakes that really added up. People are going to point to the INT - that was a huge mistake without a doubt - but the Colts really lost this game on a bunch of other plays.

I remember mid-way through the fourth quarter thinking to myself that there had been no challenges and no turnovers to that point. It turned out there would be one of each of those, and they both went the Saints way to the tune of 9 points.

I feel really good for Drew Brees. I've always rooted for him in the NFL. I'd be pretty disappointed if I were a Chargers fan watching this game. I understand that Rivers is a pretty good QB in his own right and that Brees was hurt when he left town, but the fact of the matter is that they did all they could in San Diego to get a Super Bowl MVP quarterback out of town and off of their team. It's not like Brees is one of those game manager QBs either. He's clearly an elite QB and the leader of his team spiritually and productively. He showed flashes of this in San Diego and apparently wanted no part of it.
