Sugar Bowl - LSU 41, Notre Dame 14 (Final, Jan. 3, 2007)

I love how quick ND fans are to pardon Brady Quinn. They have been making excuses for him for four straight years. First, he was a true Freshman. Then Willingham was holding him down. Then he almost beat SC. And the defense was holding him back. This year, it was the offensive line. I mean, they were awful last night, allowing a sack and giving him all night to throw.:roll2: If 4 years of terrible play in big games isn't enough to make them turn on him, I don't know what is enough.

They're in for a rude awakening next year...

True about Charlie and ND creating and trying to maintain their mystique.

Not exactly sure why I'm sticking up for them to be honest. There isn't a team out there that gets under my skin more.

Maybe I'm feeling bad for them? Holy shit, could that be??

I doubt it, since I'm going to watch that LSU beating again tonight before I go to bed!!

Gosh! What a great year 2007 is already turning out to be. Ohio State has beaten Indiana on the hardwood to open Big Ten play, the football team is in Glendale as the favorites to win the national title, and Notre Dame and Michigan have both been soundly thumped in their bowl games.

Chad Henne and Brady Quinn have been pantsed before a live, national TV audience while the best QB in all the land is a Buckeye (and a Heisman winner).

I'm getting a little misty eyed just thinking about it.

Aw, hell, Pa, now we're all a gettin' choked up...

Not only that but the fatman hasn't taken time to show the guys how to wrap up someone when they tackle?
I'm sure Charlie would teach them that, but everytime he attempts to demonstrate technique, his gunt pushes the tackling dummy further out of reach.

2 straight years he's been exposed as the 2nd best QB on the field in a Bowl game. Its obvious to everyone but the ND nation.

Brady Quinn = Chris Simms...at best.

I don't know. I think we're looking at a different QB. One who was the first overall pick and loves to throw jump balls to 6'5'' recievers. And plays consistently worse than the 2 QBs drafted after him in the same draft and who gets by because of his name (Quinn gets by because of his school, simlar). Yes I'm talking about Eli Manning.

Anyways What does ND's schedule look like next year? Either way they're in big time trouble

I remember that was one of the points the announcers and the Tennessee coaches were making during the Outback Bowl...that Penn State wasn't all that athletic in the secondary, but they almost always knew where they were supposed to be, and were usually there...they credited Bradley for that, so I imagine that's definitely coaching. ND Nation needs to face the fact that Charlie doesn't care whether he has a good defense or not...there is no other explanation for their lack of ability in seemingly simple assignments.
Im sure Charlie cares if they have a defense.. thats stupid and if the announcers say it, it must be true.

Quinn throws mad jump balls too (i enjoyed watching the early one get picked, that got overturned, but was a pick).. i honestly think Quinn is a horendous qb.. probably because of my bias but i really think he's an average qb and nothing more.. and quinn needs to keep away from the browns.. he's the last thing we need

I hope you know that's why I included the jump balls reference. I purposely included the 2 next QBs reference also because both Troy and Russel will still be drafted after him. People never learn from the Tim Couch's and Eli Mannings.

Ok, i thought you were only referring to simms. idk, i still think after the combine troys draft status will sky rocket.. the nfl talent scouts cant be as bad as the espin ones.. i hope phil savage snags troy, even though we have other needs.

i dont think eli is too bad.. i know i know but i kinda like him for whatever reason. couch.. we'll never know since he never had a line and now cant throw but even as a browns fans i thought he was a bust when he was taken over mcnabb. ridic.
