Can someone explain why encroachment is virtually NEVER called in college, unlike the NFL? That DE released and so the OT did too, yet it's almost always called on the O.

UGA o-line is kicking ass and taking names so far. Total domination.
The bad-spot on 3rd down is no big deal IMHO. Richt would have gone for it and made it on 4th and short with his o-line so utterly in command up front.
