Baylor going for 2 with 8:28 in left in the third, down 42-37. WTF? They converted, but still it's the wrong call.

you're assuming that the future would be the same despite the past being different.WolverineMike;2077456; said:Sparty is 1 for 3 today in 2pt conversions, and just kicked an EP to tie the game and send it into OT. Had they just kicked EP's all game, they would be winning.

Article on the discussion (NFL-based).

MililaniBuckeye;2236479; said:Bingo. If you're stupid enough to go for two in that situation, you deserve to lose in OT should the other team subsequently tie the score with just a TD and XP because your dumb ass went for two and failed.

And the scenario wasn't so bad - if you're down 25 with about 5 minutes to go in the game, go for 2, go for 3, go for whatever - I don't care. But they did that thing where they line up for 2, then shift to look like they're going for 1, then they fake it and go for 2. Is that the right situation to whip out a trick play? Your future opponents can prepare for it.
Or is this one of those things where their future opponents will have to spend 5 extra minutes every practice, now, preparing for this situation?
Was that really a fake? I was fast forwarding from play to play by that time, and thought it looked like the holder fucked up, and made something from nothing. If that really was a fake, then that was a stupid way to do it.Zurp;2250190; said:Maybe this isn't the right thread, but I find it funny the way Illinois went for 2 after their second touchdown.
