If you're from M*ch*g*n, is it really necessary to spend $16,000 on a baseball card to prove you're a moron? Doesn't he realize how many houses he could've bought?

Eh... how's he gonna get out of Michigan with those houses?

I mean, all he has to do now is clothespin that mother fucker to his bike spokes, start pedaling and think how much cooler it sounds than a vuvazela.

I still have a bunch from the 70s.

I remember some of my relatives buying complete sets during the craze in the 80s - when several companies began issuing cards and every fool was buying complete sets - thinking it was some sort of investment. I asked them "If they're printing millions of these things, and everybody who wants a box set is buying one, how in the hell are they going to appreciate in value? The older cards are worth something because of scarcity."

I got waved off.

Suckers.

I've always collected vintage (48 bowman-72 topps). The only way i've found making any real money off cards is to find someone who has vintage cards in good/great shape and offer about half book value...Then have it graded out to hopefully a 8 or better. High graded vintage cards are worth some dough. Condition/rarity are huge factors. Unless you are holding T206 wagners or 52 topps mantles..beat to hell cards are beat to hell cards
