Steelers at Ravens(-9.5)

A lot of comparisons between Dennis Dixon, Vince Young and Terrelle Pyror. Anyone else find it strange that all of their throwing motions are terrible, and yet, exactly the same?

EDIT: And run the same. Nice TD run there. As a Browns fan, it pisses me off.

In the words of Bill Parcells, "you are what your record says you are" and the Ravens are an over-hyped, mediocre football team.

If they can't beat the Steelers without Ben and Troy, at home, they're not a contender for anything.

Would have been a nice pay day for those who did this. I have a feeling vegas lost money on this one. I was surprised the line moved enough for people to do this.

It is almost like black Sunday (Super Bowl XIII) when the Steelers beat the Cowboys by 4 points. The line started out with Pittsburgh -3.5 but the betting was heavy on the Steelers, so the line moved to Steelers -4.5, so that people would bet on the Cowboys to even it out. This happens a lot of times in sports. But there was so much money on the game, that when the final score ended up being the worst thing for vegas, a Steelers win by 4, meaning the big group that bet on Pittsburgh -3.5 and the big group that bet on Dallas +4.5 both won. Vegas lost a lot of money on this day.

Not much Vegas can do except not take bets when things happen like this (which usually happens) or change the odds instead of moving the line.

Yeah, but something tells me bookies won't be asking for a federal bailout anytime soon. They are doing just fine.

I've heard when the line moves a lot Vegas will shut the betting down. There is a technique I heard described once as "buying your line". You find a small game and bang the team you don't want to win until they move the line to your liking in your favor. Then you come in over the top and really bet the shit out of the team you want to win with the improved odds. This is why they will shut it down if they suspect it is going on.

In this case, however, there was a specific reason for the movement and everyone knew it.
