My friend, believe it or not, the scene (hint: that EVERYBODY wanted to see, basically the reason you pay $9 to see this) was butchered so badly, that you won't leave the theater thinking about Padme & Anakin. You'll be solely focused on what could have been & was done in the scene I'm referring to.
You are right. Very Frankenstein like,IMO.

Yes. Done very badly, too brief, and out of character. The dialogue (what little there was of it) was extremely poor as well.

My biggest problems with this movie (other than the sure idiocy of 'Order 66') was that scene & the Mace/Anakin/Palpatine scene. They were both really cheesy, & were the most critical scenes in the movie. The audience was laughing.

Also, a major problem I had was Hayden Christiansen in the suit. David Prowse (the guy who played Vader in the original movies) was a Champion body builder & a huge, imposing man. Vader looked like a stack of dimes in a black suit. I could've turned around & picked any one of a number of geeks dressed up in a Darth Vader outfit, & he would've looked the same as the guy on the screen.

Thanks to all of you I had to skip out of work and go see the movie. This was easily the best of the new ones. The writing sucked as I expected from the past 2 movies, but if you can overlook that it was a really good movie. Well worth the $5 I paid to see it. Noted I never got the chance to see the old movies in the theater, but I felt more emotion toward this movie than any of the others. That could have just been because it was the last one.

I just got back from the movie. I've avoided this thread because I didn't want to hear anything about the movie before I saw it. Yes, I've turned the channel when commercials came on. The theater wasn't crowded since I picked the second show time of the morning (3rd counting midnight).

I thought it was the best of the most recent 3, and I was happy that Jar Jar had no lines. I thought Hayden Christensen was better in this movie than the last one.

I tend to agree, but I think its positives are on par with Episode 1. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a big fan of the Phantom Menace or Revenge of the Sith, but the first movie did have the great light saber duel w/ Darth Maul, the begining scene on the Trade Federation ship, as well as a great setting on Naboo, Qui-Gon Jinn, and some other stuff. People tend to look back & view it as, "The One With Jar-Jar."

All things aside, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Anything's better than the whiny Anakin in Attack of the Clones. Also better that we avoid crappy Anakin lines like, "Sand is coarse & it gets everywhere. Its not smooth like you."
