Truly a masterpiece that shall stand the test of time. The haunting eyes that seem to follow you about the room, acutely aware of every detail ... yet on second glance they appear to focus on nothing, gazing off in a stupor. That enigmatic smile. Differing schools will say it is a longing, contented, happy smile ... other are certain it is a sad, pained, melancholy expression. Such a complex mix and range of emotion from a singular subject. Who knew that St. Bill would have such a lasting impact on our lives. Pure genius.
