Spring Practice Tidbits

I'd say he was an efficient passer but not sure I'd call him decent yet. Though if he shows the ability to consistently make the throws he made in the spring game I might have to upgrade him from decent to pretty good which is much further than I would have had him along after the Texas game.

Pryor is already a decent passer. He is going to be the shit by the time the season rolls around and making PSU cry this year. Fuck those fucking faggots.

These teams could have their best seasons in school history and we should still beat them.

(I did no research of this comment before posting, but I'm pretty confident.)

Of course we should beat them, that's why they're called upsets. :)

I'll be confident in all of our games (even USC), unless someone key is injured (knock wood), I'm just sayn' I wouldn't be too surprised to see us drop one to a team we should walk over.

Based on what little I could see of the irregular streaming video on BTN, and following various fan forums regularly, I have come to a conclusion about this year that matches some previous years. Namely, that the OLine and corner back are the two areas of concern. No revelation there. Most others would start there.

As many years have gone by I have increasingly learned that effective corner play is critical to modern pass defense, probably significantly moreso than in the evolution of defenses of the '50s-'80s, more in my era. I think we were exceptionally blessed to have Jenkins...he earned all the accolades thrown his way. I must admit I consider Chimdi uneven. Great play some, irregular some. Similarly, I have believed for 60 years of fandom that the Oline makes or breaks virtually every offense. Last year's had some quality, but it didn't play very effectively together. While I think the potential talent level of this spring's big guys is significant, it is apparent that not everything jelled yet.

So the conclusion I have again reached is that for us to be special this year, some of the incoming frosh are going to have to contribute. And, as luck would have it, perhaps they may in my two areas of concern. It also assumes Adams gets back to 100 percent, as well as Shugarts. If they all do, then I think we can be a zero to two loss team and probably play in a BCS game.

But then, such optimism is a hallmark of 60 year fans...goes with the territory. So I may be over optimistic. But then, I don't care...I'm entitled :wink2:

Go Bucks!

You wouldn't be surprised to see us lose to an Ohio MAC team? Remind me again the last time we lost to someone from Ohio.

I understand what you're saying but NMSU and Toledo could play out their asses and still probably lose by 4 td's. If you're talking about slipping up, it'll have to come to a team against Iowa, MSU, or Illinois' caliber.
