Okay... in all seriousness, there's still a HUGE amount of potential for giving left here - even just among the regular posters. Check out these numbers:
As of Saturday 72 members have donated a total of $5496.29. That's about $76 per...
The members list tells me that 408 users have visited the site today. I'm going to assume that most of those 72 donors are among those 408, so that would leave about 336 members that still need to step up. Even if they don't pitch in at $76 each, there's still a HUGE amount of untapped potential out there. Even if each of those 336 members chips in $35 (less than half of the $76 average contribution), that means that there's still almost...
$12,000
sitting around out there that needs to flow this way.
Going one step further, there are 775 members who have visited since yesterday. Take away the 408 of those who have visited today, and the 72 that have already contributed and that leaves 295. If those 295 each chip in $25, that means that there's almost another
$7500
sitting around out there not doing this community any good.
So we're sitting at about $5500 right now, but we're looking at a potential of almost
$20,000
that's sitting out there that needs to be finding its way, sooner than later, to BP.
Look, the numbers don't really matter. Don't worry what the overall numbers are or that there's a HUGE chunk of untapped potential out there. Don't worry about the Maurice Claretts and Robert Smiths and Sam Maldanados of the world... What matters is that in order to have a strong community and a strong sense of ownership in that community, we all need to do our part and at least pull our own weight by participating in the fund drive.
What's important is that everybody contribute something. If you've been on this site in the last 48 hours and you haven't made a donation, then you need to step up and do your part. Are you gonna be a Gonzo or are you gonna be a bust?
Just sayin'...
Can I get a witness?
