Sports 'journalists' (Who Don't Work For ESPN)

This Clay Travis douche-canoe has talked [Mark May] about Urban Meyer "bailing" on Florida, taken a jab at OSU's schedule saying Josh Rosen could beat half of Ohio State's schedule on his own, and spent the rest of the time hosting Countdown to Kickoff riding Rosen's dick despite the fact that his only career victory is to fucking Virginia.

Can't wait until SC buries that bitch, so the hype settles down a bit.

Travis is a typical SEC homer, graduating from an athletically irrelevant SEC institution which he thinks gives him a platform to nut hug Alabama.

Why does anybody pay attention to him? He even tells everybody that the more you get pissed off, the more he gets paid. He's not that hard to ignore - he's on FS1 for fuck's sake. The only way to hear him is to seek him out. Most people don't even know they have his channel.

Last week he picked Tennessee to win the SEC East and 10 minutes later had Georgia as one of his playoff teams. Uh, trolling, he is doing it right.

It was more of a "my TV was still tuned to FS1 after the football game last night" scenario. Unfortunate, really.

It's okay, though. I now know to not watch that shit. It was terrible, too.

So Brian Reynolds, the Senior Web Producer for the Houston Chronicle, was an idiot and tweeted this in response to Urban saying their FG return play is called "Bama."

He evidently meant to post it to his personal account, because the Chronicle tweet was quickly deleted and he reposted a similar remark on his personal account.

Of course 11W was all over this, which meant Buckeye Nation quickly found out and started eviscerating the Chronicle and Reynolds. The responses to Reynolds' "apology" (which obviously is a pile of shit which he doesn't actually mean) on his personal account are pure gold.

The weird thing about this "joke" is how it is so obviously not applicable anymore since Meyer just beat Saban in a somewhat significant game the last time they met. Since the sugar bowl, you to thought this particular "burn" would have died.

No, that was one game. The obvious implication is that Meyer couldn't hack coaching real football anymore, so he went somewhere easier where he plays 11 patsies and only has to play a big game once.

There's also the part where the gumps conveniently ignore Meyer beating Saban in the SECCG in 2008.

Fuck 'em.

On Dec 4, 2004 Urban Meyer accepted the Florida job.
On Dec 25, 2004 Nick Saban went to the Miami Dolphins.

Saban fled the SEC first!!!
