Sports 'journalists' (Who Don't Work For ESPN)

during 2nd half of LSU/Bama game, LSU runs QB sneak on 4th and 1.

in full view of camera (an uncalled by ref), bama player tugs Jennings facemask hard enough to rip it off it's lower supports.

Gary Danielson ignores what he sees and says "his facemask fell off during the play"

Bama's players hands have SEC speed and played well in space making a sure tackle.

I remember watching a game with Verne and Gary either last week or the week before and while talking about a 10th ranked SEC team, Gary actually said "And you have to remember ________, being ranked 6th or 7th or something like that".

It's highly irrelevant at this point in time, but I just thought I'd share how ridiculous that was.

yeah he said it was "heads up" to take the injury because of the face mask.

How so? with an injury you gotta sit out a play.
with a broke face mask you gotta sit out a play.

so what's the difference?

It's more manly to sit out because of a rule that you have to if you're hurt, rather than sitting out due to broken equipment.

It's a shame because at one time Danielson was considered a good commentator. Lately at times he appears to be little more than a shill. Then again, today could have been because of where he was. Doesn't a person's IQ go down 40 points upon entering MS?

Some novice bettors might’ve forgotten that Miller was injured last season and fortunately Ohio State had a stable backup in senior Kenny Guiton. He’s gone and there isn’t much experienced behind Braxton this fall. If Miller were to be injured early in the season and unable to return, OSU could finish 7-5 or 6-6.

Game 1 vs. Navy (at Baltimore): Quarterback Keenan Reynolds will burn the young OSU secondary.

Game 5 at Maryland: Look for Maryland to beat OSU soundly by avoiding OSU's front four with quick slant passes. Randy Edsall will best Meyer here.

Game 7 at Penn State: Look for new head coach James Franklin to get his first signature win as PSU's boss in this contest. PSU gunslinger Christian Hackenberg will burn OSU's secondary.

Game 9 at Michigan State: Look for QB Connor Cook to outplay Braxton Miller and for the Spartans to beat Ohio State as soundly as they beat them in the Big Ten Championship Game last year.

My prediction is that Ohio State will win eight games, nine perhaps, at best, and that’s only if Braxton Miller doesn’t get hurt.

"Vegas insider" is he?

Given his display of keen insight, my guess is this "insider" lives at the YMCA and takes a bus to work.

He sells his "inside information" to would be sports bettors, claiming his "awesome record 'ats'" as his resume. And he makes good money fleecing the sheep. I keep trying to tell people that if he was REALLY that good, he would be living on a yacht somewhere, counting his winnings, but alas, the sheep are easily shorn, and that hack makes a living shearing them.

I'm just a caveman, but I don't understand how following his advice helps people make money betting...

heard another gem during the game last night.

don't remember exact play, but Brando informed us all that "wow, if he doesn't get tackled, that's a touchdown."

I'm so glad he educated us like that. I never would have guessed that if a guy doesn't get tackled, he's probably going to score.
