Sparty +4.5 at TSUN (ov/un 64.5) 3:30 ET ABC/ESPN

thanks for the link, 07.

for the record, I want Dantonio involved in the game this saturday so there is no excuse like "oh, well if our head coach wasn't sick, we would have won" type of crap.

even though i'm nervous as shit about this game.

That makes sense now. I hadn't thought about replay challenges.

Since phone calls are legal from outside the stadium, I guess I'm ready to volunteer to have be on JT's speed dial for calling timeouts and making replay challenges. :tongue2:

It's funny you say that because Mike Valenti on Detroit sports radio this afternoon said the same thing of Denard... He's a sparty homer and fuckstick in his own right but made it a point to say "I want Denard, I don't want any excuses..."

Pretty funny shit coming from both JV squads up north this week.

I think the Robinson phenomenon is for real -- I know that puts me in the minority with this crowd, but other backs have gone up against similar levels of competition without posting numbers like his.

Sparty will score points too and may win the game, but I'm guessing that this will be a shoot out -- last-team-with-the-ball-wins -- type of game. going with the home field advantage.

UM's been in three close games this year and has won them all. Sooner or later it'll catch up with them (like, you know, maybe when they face a real defense) and Denard will go back to being Denard (i.e., the 2009 @Iowa Denard).

I think it's for real in the sense that there hasn't been a RB placed at the QB position in this kind of system where literally EVERYTHING runs through him.

I still want to see him against a real defense. I don't know if Sparty counts. If they stop him, it does.....if they don't, it doesn't

Massachusetts had a real defense for the first half, so it can't be that hard.

I think the combination of a partially real defense and a partially real rushing game that can control the clock is the silver bullet.

Michigan State should be able to pull that off... if they don't pull a Sparty instead.

I think this is the one game this year where Sparty knows they cannot be...well...Sparty. Hopefully they can tie up Shoelaces nice and tight.

Sparty = Ray

Denard will go back to being Denard. What does that even mean? Do you think that Denard hasn't improved or is the same player from last year?

He's improved, but I think everyone should wait until he's faced at least a decent defense before making a decision one way or the other. I'm referring to both Michigan and Buckeye fans here, and not you in particular..

I think a good defense will get him into some trouble with his passing. He'll put up rushing stats no matter who he plays, unless it's an uber-defense. Just based on the amount of rushing attempts he has alone.

Let me see if I follow the logic here; Denard hasn't faced a good defense because he's played against Notre Dame -- a team the Big 10 has all but begged to join the conference -- and Indiana a conference member -- UConn a team most BP posters picked to kick Michigan's ass and U Mass because they're like Marshall or OU or EMU but with different names and jerseys -- and during this time Denard has run up unGodly numbers even in comparison to the numbers a certain QB from another B10 team has posted, but Denard's numbers don't count because, well, they came against those teams that don't count, unlike EMU, Ohio U and Marshall, who do count, and now he's going to get his comeuppance because Michigan is going to play Michigan State, a team that just blew Notre Dame out of the water, while Dennard had to get lucky and score a last second TD to beat the same team.

Am I close there?

Hey, I love Terrell and the Buckeyes, but let's put some perspective on this.

Let's put some perspective on it - Terrelle put up good numbers against Cryami. I don't see very many people on here hyping up TP just because of the EMU, Ohio or Marshall games.

Denard still hasn't played a defense with a pulse. eSPIN and their minions are all over him because of it. Just because Ntre Ame is wanted in the Big Ten doesn't mean they are worth a shit and we all know Indiana's defense would have issues stopping some high school teams. I don't see how you pointing those two out would help your point.
