I thought the game was very sloopy for both teams. you would think after having the same penalty over and over and over again, they would fix it...I wasnt impressed with USCs secondary, or with their defense as a whole, but they did get better toward the end of the game. Do I think USC could beat a top 10 team right now, not with the way they played, but they will get there act together im sure

I cannot belive there are people who think that team is the best team in college football!!!!

I would put Wisky, Michigan, Iowa, Purdue, OSU, Michigan St, Minnesota up against that same VT team on the road and I bet the BIG 10 would go at least 5-2.
YESSSS VT could possibly and realistically finish 8th in the BIG 10.

The point people are trying to make about Bush is that they had Linebackers trying to guard him and their db's are horrible. He is very good but they made him look great!!!

Name a db on our two deep that one of their starters could replace. Their free safety was smoking crack. Everyone in the world knew what plays they were gonna call but their safeties were no where to be found.

They got exposed because you can pass to your tight ends all day long!!!! If randall could have hit wide open TE and WR the game would have been different.

You can be in awe with USC but i'm really not impressed.

People keep comparing USC nad OSU but thats comparing apples and oranges. Our style is to play close games theirs isn't.

I can see them losing 2 games this year. PAC-10 teams have alot better WR and QB'S than Randall.

I'm not Bucklion because some of the stupid post's about USC on this thread are giving me Bucknuts flashbacks. USC is very overrated. Their are several top 25 teams that would have beaten them tonight easily. VT is a decent team but nothing to brag about.

I feel better about our chances at making a BCS game after watching this game. If the standard is set that low IMO we can make it.

BTW Miami of Ohio looked really good. Michigan better not overlook them.

Miami (OH) played Indiana State, who would have trouble beating St. Ignatius. I agree they better not overlook them, but beating a weak I-AA team doesn't show me much. If they were on our schedule this season, I would respect them, but certainly be far from afraid of them.

All I meant by the decaf comment was that I have read this entire thread, and I have seen nothing close to anyone being in awe of USC. You're exaggerating a bit.

Miami of Ohio might have played Indiana State but it's still a game. The team got to run plays and work on techniques. I know Michigan is on a different planet than IS but the extra game will help this week in Miami's preparation for Michigan. Michigan has a new QB and Runningback by committee. This game will be closer than the experts predict. Hopefully it's the biggest upset in Miami history.

A few things to take away

The shine is off of USC. Norm Chow took his play calling from this Collegefootballnews.com Keys to the Game Article (moving Reggie Bush Around will cause problems).

I kept thinking the whole game that our D-Line would man handle their O-Line and really rough Leinart up.

I kept wondering why they just didn't hand the ball to Lendale White for 10 ypc every play.

You can pass on them, especially down the middle.

I wouldn't call them overrated, maybe over hyped. As was brought up before, every team can have their close shaves and struggles and bounce back and play much better.

Line Play, to me, however, just seems like something that you cannot really mask. Leinart seemed like he was high-tailing it around a bit and he'll definitely be sore tomorrow, all day.
