Wright deemed ineligible for 2009
By Ben Malcolmson on August 31, 2009 6:29 PM | No Comments
Cornerback Shareece Wright is academically ineligible and will be forced to sit out the 2009 season, Coach Pete Carroll announced tonight.

"Shareece didn't get it done," said Carroll, who learned of the news following Monday's practice. "He didn't get the GPA he needed to get."

Wright, a projected starter, will be replaced in the lineup by Josh Pinkard, a first-string cornerback in 2008 who had been slotted as a starting safety this season. Pinkard's move opens up a starting role for safety Will Harris.

A redshirt junior who sat out 2008 with a neck injury, Wright will be allowed to practice with the team this fall but will not be eligible to play in a game until the 2010 season.

"He's disappointed but he's going to make the most of it," Carroll said of Wright.

Just to make sure we all remember where the Internet has been, when it comes to smack talk...

The following style of remarks, once considered "fresh" and "cutting" are now considered lame

1 - Suggesting your readers "get a life" or "a job" This lame remark is easily thwarted with the reality that most people do have jobs and are being paid by their employer to makes posts on whatever board you're on at the time.... Likewise, it's also easy to simply advise the poster "Thanks for your concern, but I like my life just fine"

2 - Calling the reader a grade school kid, or teen, or some age they most likely are not. It's just not funny, and I've never met anyone who gets pissed off about such a remark... Hell, most of us would prefer to be younger than we are and enjoy getting carded

3 - Suggesting the reader enjoys homosexual activities. Just over played, really. Oddly enough, the "you're gay" bit always seem to come around the "you're a grade schooler" type comment.. which is ironic, because it was about the 3rd grade when things being "gay" was funny/insulting. Ever since then, it's just sorta been "gay" to call things "gay" if you know what I mean.

Thanks... now back to your regularly scheduled thread....

Matthews played linebacker. Lining up at defensive end in some defensive personnel groupings is different than actually being a defensive end.

I've just realized after reading your posts that we know more about your team than you do.

your 100% wrong, matthews lined up as an every down DE

4. Posting scores from games .. also known as "scoreboard bitching" someone... Lame. Yeah.. OSU lost 35 - 3 to SC last year. It wasn't fun as a fan... Now what? Do you want me to fly in to a rage? Shall I meet you in some locale and we can throw hands? Truly... I'm just really really upset right now..

Yes... posting scores from games as some sort of "I got ya"... internet lame...

Keep it up, Potsie... you're killing me here.
