Smith throw for 900 yards in '04, while starting only five games and playing mop duty in three others.

180 yards per "start" and 300+ in one game scUM. so 150 per in 4 other starts minus out what he did in the mop up games. We are all saying that to date Troy is if not THE best than one of the best Buckeye QBs of all time. It's just that the comparison of expectations for TS just wasn't there in 06 maybe so in 07. Alot of fans still disliked him going into THE GAME 04'...lol... i don't know why but they did.

I can laugh at them losing....but dumbass state penners are personally making fun of Pryor for that.

Someone told me Tress said we aren't going to see as much 4 wide Receivers split out that we have seen in past seasons.
This sounds like really bad news to me especially since we havent seen all that much of the 4 wide.
It made me really angry to be honest. Any truth?

I don't remember 4/5 wide sets being particularly better... other than 06 when OSU had tremendous depth at WR. (Robiskie, Hartline, Hall, Small as the #3-6 wrs). Going 4-5 wide with Boom at RB would also take Saine, Berry & Stoneburner out of the equation.

Perhaps less 4-5 wide sets means less predictable QB draws.
It made me really angry to be honest.
That seems a bit extreme.

No, no truth to that. I don't know where your friend heard it from. If anything we'll see more 3 WR sets with a tightend to be used in the passing game. We don't really need to have Terrelle going through 5 reads before running...3 reads and then takeoff is fine with me. We will see our fair share of 4WR sets as the season progresses though; and as TP gets more and more comfortable and decisive in his reads. The progress he's shown and the sets they were running in practice show me that he is ready for the spread it out attack from '06.

I think well see alot of 3 wide receiver sets with the TE in the game. But i also think well see two TE in the game alot and hopefully i would like to see boom and zoom in the game at the same time. But i think it all depends on the situation and gameplan. I really think we can go four wide with the talent we have and we can go 5-6 deep at WR with Posey, Dane, Washington, thomas and Carter and thats not even counting if small gets back into the picture at WR (my gut tells me he wont, however i hope he gets an oppurtunity to make an impact) and dont forget about Grant Schwartz. So i think we will see a good amount of 4 wides but we have alot of guys who can play on offense and it's going to depend on who we play and how they play us from a defensive standpoint that determines who we send out there.:oh::io:

I am not sure. I tend to think that the OSU coaching staff knows a bit more about their squad than I, or anyone else on this board. You see.........to get to that level you have to have some decent football knowledge.........and mind you I'm not just talking about what works on NCAA 2010. So, I tend to look at things rationally and just enjoy the show. There are a lot bigger issues that I get worked up about.........not whether or not we will use 4 WR set's much next season. :wink2:
