South Bracket Discussion

Do you really think they will? I don't see them getting past Oregon, Maryland, and Florida.

Who's to say? If I knew for sure, I would make a few benji's in the next few weeks. :) I just know that Wisconsin is more than capable of lulling teams to sleep, and beating them with 46 points. I wouldn't cross them out just yet, even in a very tough bracket.

the loss of butch has not been discussed, but I think it is very significant.

Virginia is the team to watch in the section below us imho

Hope you're right. I'm a UVA alum so they're the dog I have in this race. Speaking from that perspective, I like our chances of getting to the Sweet Sixteen, as Albany doesn't really scare too many people, and Tennessee kind of strikes me as more of a 6-7 seed. Never say never, though.

Must remember to give a big thank-you to NC State for also beating VT and making a game of it against UNC. I think if NC State goes down against VT in the ACC tournament, my 'Hoos are relegated to a 6th themselves. I think the committee decided rather than the NC State game being a real indicator, they just figured UVA got unlucky and in the way of a fluky freight train.

If we do see a UVA-OSU matchup in the Sweet 16, expect to get tired of me real quick :wink2:

Don't look past Albany...They could give you UVA all they want...

UVA has been up and down for most of the year, they got the benefit of playing the weakest ACC schedule...

They also have 2 good scorers, but need someone to step up and put points on the board if they want to advance far...

True that... I'm still scratching my head on the fact that Ohio State gets the three overall 1-seed after stomping a mudhole in Wisconsin....????

About the only thing I can come up with would be the regular season head-to-head. The other #1 seeds (Florida, NC) ahead of us both beat us early in the season. I really think that blowout loss to Florida hurt, and left some lasting impressions (i'm talking about the basketball blowout  ) on the commitee, but 17 straight should count for something!

I really like our bracket, so I don't care. I just don't get getting the South and not the Midwest.

Who do you guys like, the mormons or the X'men? I like X.

I havent actually seen what time the game is during the day, but if it is an early game they could be sleep walking as they are coming from the left coast...Xavier has a very short trip to Lexington and a very tested PG in Lavender. That is why I like the X-men...
