South Bracket Discussion

good thing about being on the top of the bracket is that you don't give a shit about the bottom. you only play one team from the bottom. let them beat the shit out of eachother and we'll take on the winner

Great bracket overall. I think we have the easiest path to the Final Four

Some notables:

-Interesting possible 2nd round match up vs Xavier, being a former school Matta led.

-Interesting possible 3rd round match up against Tennessee, seeing as we beat them earlier in the season.

-I disagree with those hoping A&M beats up on Memphis. I would rather face Memphis in the Elite 8, seeing as A&M would literally have a home game playing in San Antonio.

I think this a tough bracket for us, Acie Law is the best point guard in America and A&M is a team that plays great defense. Memphis has the big men and depth to match up against us. To get out of this region alive would accomplishment.

I disagree. :) After looking at the brackets a second time, tOSU was treated like we were the #1 overall seed. Florida actually got that distinction (going off last year, anyone?) but I think we have the easiest region. Lucky for us, if Acie Law is indeed the best PG in America, that we have the second best PG in America, Mike Conley, Jr. I have gotten to the point that I believe OSU is the best team in the country, and I am willing to take on all challengers. Gotta Love It!

I think Acie has an argument for national player of the year as well. I'd probably put Dominic James ahead of Conley at PG but Mike is a hell of a PG. I think we can match up with any team in this region or in the country but we got some good teams in this region and some interesting matchups. Never have I seen a lower seed like Louisville get so hooked up by playing in Lexington or the 3 seed basically getting a game in their home state.

I hope you are right. Memphis has some good looking players.

I think Memphis is just glorified in an extremely weak conference and they "appear" more dangerous than what they really are... The only trouble I see OSU facing is Texas A&M. Don't get me wrong Ohio State is going to play lazy at times against teams and let them stick around for longer than they should be but the only team I see Ohio State having trouble with in this bracket is A&M.

I'm sure many folks outside of the B10 would say the same thing about us.

Memphis plays in weak conference but save for a couple games rolled everyone in it. They didn't play as well in OOC breaking in freshman point guard in Willie Kemp but they've got good depth and Coach Cal is one coach that has proven his teams can be successful despite playing lower profile conferences.

Yeah, but I'd put them a step lower than a team like Southern Illinois. I believe that Ohio State could handle Memphis with ease and take them out by 15, that is if both teams get the job done and go 1-2 to the Elite-8 which doesn't happen too extremely often. IMO I can't see Memphis making it past A&M and I think it will be the Bucks against A&M for the spot in the Final 4.

Why? They put Wisky in their rightful place today and gave them a nice whoopin. They beat them in a great game just a couple weeks ago, then lost in the first by 3 points? They played UNC to the wire and the Heels pulled away by sinking the FTs. The only game that Ohio State played horribly in is against Florida AT Florida which they haven't shown their very good from home either.
