South Bracket Discussion

HtM, looking at your schedule... UVA seemed to be held to lower point totals against some of the better teams who play defense (ie 59-61 Purdue, 67-62 NC State, 69-75 UNC, 64-62 Clemson, 68-62 Duke).

Were you missing players against Purdue?
Nope. The Purdue game, the team just allowed themselves to be dragged into a slow-paced grind of a game and never took charge to play their own style.

Usually a low point total means Reynolds and Singletary had to do it all by themselves, not getting much help from some of the other options. That's why so many close low-scoring games - in the clutch, all the plays get drawn up for one of those two. Today, Reynolds is a one-man show so far, but it looks that's cause everyone's feeding the ball to the hot hand. When called upon, the other guys are hitting their shots too.

Wow. 121-86 is crazy. On the one hand it's nice to see Tennessee isn't particularly interested in playing defense (LBSU shot 53% from the field and 57% from 3). On the other hand, we'd better be up for some defense of our own......yikes.

Pretty classy of Tenn to be hoisting up threes at the end of a 30 point blowout. Nice to have it reaffirmed why I don't like the Vols at all.
