Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

I have been on here for almost a year but never found my way to this thread, but now that I am here is a little about me. I grew up just south of Youngstown and have been a Buckeye fan all my life. My father was a huge Buckeye fan and I watched my first games with him. I remember not knowing alot about football then and learning all I knew from him. I lost him suddenly when I was 12 but tOSU is one of the passions that he instilled in me that I carry now and will forever. I live in Erie, PA now because of work but I haven't missed a game in the nine years I have lived here. I work at a Country Club as a golf professional and had a lucky circumstance. One of my members is a name that some of the more seasoned members of this board may remember, Jeff Davis. Beacause of this I have been able to go behind the locked doors of the Woody Hayes center, stand on the indoor practice field, tour the players locker rooms and see every part of the Shoe. My friends joke that until you watch your first tOSU game with me you can't be prepared. I have three resounding memories about tOSU:

1) The pain I felt after the MSU loss in 1998. No disappointment has hurt as much as that one. I COULDN'T get out of bed the next day.

2) The joy that night in 2003, I was awake until sunrise watching Sportscenter over and over again.

3) My first game in Ohio Stadium, it actually brought tears to a grown mans eyes for many reasons. (Wish you were there with me Dad)

Favorite Football Buckeye - Eddie
Favorite B-Ball Buckeye - Jim Jackson

To all of you responsible for this site,

Thank You and One Hell of a Job

Guess I forgot to take care of this when I joined.

Yeah, I was told to come here by my dad. He posts on here. Sandgk is his screen name.

I really like the analysis on here. Huge Buckeyes fan, and a Big Ten fan in general. Been to some away games (At Pittsburgh in 1995, where Glenn had a big game, and at Happy Valley in 1999, when the crowd was actually nice), and obviously some games at the 'Shoe.

I am a Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Pittsburgh Pirates fan, as I grew up in the Pittsburgh area.

I really enjoyed Mike Tomczak coming in instead of Kordell during those times (He didn't make the big plays, but he was safer with the ball than Kordell was), and I love Santonio Holmes' big play abilities for the Steelers.

I really wish RJ Umberger will play in Steel Town later in his career, as he grew up in Pittsburgh and he played at Ohio State.

And, as for the Pirates, well... Joe Bauserman is smart for switching from bad coaching and bad management in Pitsburgh, to incredibly coaching and awesome management at Ohio State.

Anyway, :oh:

welcome daveeb, son of sandgk!

Hey everyone. I've been reading these boards for a while now, and I really enjoy the opinions here. The posters on this site are much more even keel than any other sites I've seen (I don't know if anyone here has been on the ESPN message boards, but those are just ridiculous).

Anyways, a little about me...My name is Mike and I'm currently a freshman at Ohio State. I'm originally from California and moved to Cleveland when I was 9. I remember watching the 2002 national title game, but I didn't really become a big Buckeyes fan until around 2004. I don't know why I decided to join, seeing how knowledgable most of you guys are, I really don't know how much I can add. But I'll try.

On a random note I just had an incredible sports weekend. On Friday I was at Eddie George's Grill eating when he walked in and I was lucky enough to get my picture taken with him. Then on Saturday I was watching the Bucks kill Penn State at French Field house with a bunch of people (there was a special event going on because it was Family Weekend) and I won and Archie Griffin autographed football. I really don't know how the weekend could have gotten any better. Anyway...just thought I would throw that in there.

I am originally from Troy and moved to Cali when I was 10, I would venture to say I did better in that deal than you did :)

Either way, welcome to the board :osu:
