The National Championship game and the Rose Bowl will produce two Big Ten wins and maybe shut those SEC blowhards up for a couple months after seeing LSU humiliated.

true

but will michigan being blown out by florida (an sec team) ruin all of that? i am rooting for illinois indiana wisconsin and obviously the soon to be national champs:osu:. i can't root for michigan but i will be upset if their loss holds the big 10 back or becomes the standing point of all the detractors

Okay. Actually, I was kidding. We know that it's subjective. I even know someone that loves prairie more than ocean, forest, mountains, etc. Yes, it's nice to have live oaks and palms. We have maples, honeylocusts, etc. It's so cold here in winters, but it's so hot and so humid in the deep south in summers. We're even. Some people hate winters, because they drive cars, and negative connotations from news hosts like CNN. They don't want slippery while driving, drive slow or digging snow. When I was a kid, I knew of no negative thing about snow and had great time making underground "snowtunnels", etc. You know of a guy from Ohio who said only good things about Louisiana, because it was new to him. I remembered a Miss America contender of Hawaii was wowed when she saw an upcoming train and deep forest at Tennessee on a field trip years ago. An OSU qb from Az was awed when he saw falling snow years ago. Yes, for me, it would be nice to visit Louisiana, Az, and other states.

I have been lurking for a little while so here goes my intro. My Husband and I grew up in Ohio and we both were raised with Buckeye crazed parents lol. My husband and I currently live in c-bus, but he is an active duty Marine and we will be moving to VA next year. I am getting my Masters in Education at OSU. I live for buckeye football and my husband jokes that we only need two channels in our house ESPN or ESPNU because every time that he gets home that is what channel I have on! GO BUCKS!!

Better get the Big Ten Network...

Yeah, I remember how pissed I was that I couldn't get the Big Ten Network to see Penn State steamroll Florida International 59-0. Even though they were our season opener cupcake it'd still have been fun to watch. At least it won't be happening in 2008 when Penn State plays Coastal Carolina (they're to Division I-AA what Duke is to Division I-A, they go BEYOND cupcake team).

Through my amazing ability I was able to find this site. For a long time I have thought I need to be in a Buckeye's fourm to keep up to date on all of the Buckeye news. So here I am. Never had the great opportunity to attend Ohio State. One I grew up in West Virginia, and the cost killed me. Secondly I was told by a wonderful guidence counsalor that I was not smart enough to go to Ohio State or any college. The good news in I graduated with a degree from a university.
I have been a fan for a long time. My cousin pretty much got me started watch the games when I was around 7 or 8. I never really picked up much on it watching football until I reached High School and played football. As the years past I became deeper and deeper in love with the Buckeyes. I live in Louisville, KY with my wife and one child where I work as a Network Admin. Some day Lord willing I will be able to move to the Columbus area putting us close to family and the Buckeyes.
Thank you to Insight cable for getting the Big Ten Network.:osu:

This is actually a pic from Percy Quinn State Park in Mississippi. I was being carried away by mosquitoes while taking that picture! ...but as you said in your post, there are beautiful lakes around LSU campus.

Welcome. I see you choose to use a landscape picture as your avatar. What is that a picture of? It looks exactly like the view I've seen many times at LSU's lakes (for readers who don't know, LSU's campus has lakes on one side, and the Mississippi River on the other). But there are so many other places in Louisiana that have a similar view. For example, that view looks just like many parts of the Mississippi River here in Louisiana (although probably about 15% wider than the Mississippi River views that I'm used to).

For ex, here's are some links to some galleries of incredibly beautiful sunset pics of both the Mississippi and the LSU lakes taken by someone in Baton Rouge --

Since I've been posting on your board for a while allow me to introduce myself.

Born & raised in SW Louisiana. I'm an old fart who spent a year at LSU from 1965 - 66.

Thanks to an old high school buddy, made my first trip back to Tiger Stadium since I was a student for the Florida game in 2003. Since that was the only game we lost that year, needless to say I caught a lot of shit.

Thanks to the Internet and expanded TV coverage I'm able to follow the Tigers almost as closely as if I were still in Louisiana.

Looking forward to a damn good game on the 7th.

In closing, let me add what a classy site Buckeye Planets is. You guys and gals are to be commended for the quality of discussion.
