Lone Star (means something to Akronites)...

enjoyed a number of OSU games at the shoe..

married with three great kids... relocated to Princeton, Jersey in '99... proud as hell when oldest said he wanted to do OSU over ND and NW... and that's when the real ride started... He has mktg degree and is now going for masters in teaching... middle child is JR at Rutgers... and 14 yr old is extremely active on various sporting teams... school and summer leagues.. 4 furry children some mistake to be dogs

was a VG junkie for quite some time... his site 'vacations' got longer and longer and LONGER.. and then his site recommended this one... so to feed the addiction, here I am...

And with my one thousand one hundred sixty third post I will sound off.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential...

My father was a travleing chemical salesman who had a penchant for easter candy and sour cream and Onion Potato chips. My mother was not a gin soaked bar room queen from Memphis. They hit it off quite early on... courting in the plains of North Central Ohio... she a 2nd Runner up Homecoming Queen in College... He a balding axe man down at the Sigma Nu house. My love of all things Buckeye began as a little boy, when I revolted agianst my Mother's insistence that I ride on a float to give away Candy in the local 'holiday parade' near the end of November. I informed my mother that I would neither miss the kickoff of the Ohio State Michigan Game to be in a ludicrous Parade nor would I throw candy to other children when I could just as well keep it for myself.... As I grew older and started noticing girls and hair began to grow in my nether regions I realized that I was very unnattracted to any woman that wore too much hairspray as it reminded me of a trip to Michigan my parents took me on at age 6 where I was accosted by the waitress at a diner whose breath stank and hair traveled 16 miles upward in a beehive with the aid of aquanet who insisted that I should grow up to be a 'wrassler' at the universtiy of michigan... later in life I understood the beauty of a woman in a tight scarlet sweater accentuated by Double D breasts.... after highschool i spent two years as a professional beer drain n the vicintiy of Athens Ohio where I learned that the styx were boring and that true hapiness lay in scarlet and gray... and here I am.

Hi... My username is bkochmc and I'm a Buckaholic... no pun intended to the user with the same name. :) I became a frequent lurker of the board during the BN migration of '03... finally signed up in July '04 and now making my whereabouts known. Obivously I'm not much of a poster but I do enjoy reading the insight and antics of posters here.

Born and raised in Columbus Grove (northwest Ohio), I ventured away from the small, sleepy town to attend Muskingum College (ironically, another sleepy town) where I spent most fall Saturdays in my dorm watching the Buckeyes and spring Saturdays running track. Graduated in December of '01 with 2 majors and married my high school/college sweetheart in July '02. I now reside only 20 minutes from the mecca of college football in Westerville. We also have a small Yorkshire Terrier named Eddie which can be seen in the Woof Woof thread .

I've been a Buckeye fan my entire life. I got hooked on the Bucks through basketball as my dad was a junior high coach when I was growing up. The first Buckeye football games I remember were in the days of Chris Spielman, who is still one of my favorite players of all time.

My first live Buckeye experience was the '93 Rice game. I can still remember walking into the Horseshoe for the first time and standing there in awe... being in awe once again when the Alumni Band did a quad-Script Ohio and cheering on the Bucks to a 34-7 victory. I have only been to 5 games in my life ('93 Rice, '97 Arizona, '02@Cincy, '02 Indiana, '03 San Diego State) but in all games the Bucks have been victorious. I have also attended a few basketball games with the most recent being January '02 when the Bucks trounced the evil Wolverines 69-47.

Other than Ohio State football I am also a 'track junkie' and an active Track & Field official at the high school and college level... if there's a discussion about this I'll most likely be involved!

Even though I work with computers all the time I have never been one to be very active on message boards... I am planning on being more active with this community. :)

Go Bucks!

Here you go, AKAK and friends, post no. 1201:

I was born a poor black child in Alabama, well, actually Georgia and I happen to be white, but grew up in an all black neighborhood (favorite rugby team - New Zealand All Blacks, but that's much later in our story). I came to Ohio because tOSU would give me a better graduate fellowship than 'Sconsin (those fucking buggers, I mean badgers, oh well, if the shoe fits, buggers, told me if I'd pay my way the first year, they'd see what they could do from there) and Texas didn't want me. Since then, we've won a national championship and they, well, you know... (not that I'm claiming any responsibility for that).

I knew I had made the right decision when I found that ambitious young undergraduate women in my TA (T&A) sections would sleep with me in pursuit of their mandatory humanities credits. My first quarter I taught Communist Ethics and my advisor/mentor (now professor emeritus) was a raving atheist who taught philosophy of religion. All of this was completely foreign from the bible belt in the South. I also discovered that most of you had never heard of The War of Northern Aggression, but found that the subtle lure of a Southern accent (a put-on, but who knew?) when finding one's self in more Northern climes could indeed make the long winter more temperate. Even John Edwards could get laid in Ohio. A great time, all in all.
I thought UGA football was a big deal until I got to Columbus when I realized that "between the hedges" was no match for "on the banks of the Olentangy." I love all things Buckeye and fight the fight of righteousness everyday for the Scarlet and Gray here in the SEC. BP makes my alienation in the land of my birth less bitter (and the paint chips help take the edge off; thanks, AKAK). Cheers, Clarity and the rest of the Planet.
