Hog Fan here from the Ozark Mountains!

I'm excited about the Sugar Bowl and enjoying the fun in Nawlins.
Hopefully we'll hold up the SEC streak, I expect it to be one of the best Bowl games. I expect Coach Petrino will have our players ready to play The Ohio St. University.

Hog fan from Jonesboro, Arkansas checking in. First of all I can not wait until our match-up in New Orleans. I consider it one of the more intriguing bowl games this season with no clear-cut favorite heading in. I look forward to meeting Buckeye fans in the Big Easy in and around the stadium(and definitely Bourbon St.!)

And as for you LSU fan, your team has yet to prove its worthiness of being hosted in the gem of the Ozarks that is Razorback Stadium. Perhaps you're fans dissatisfaction with the venue is why we keep the game there.

Also, Les Miles will be at a disadvantage in Cowboys Stadium for the Cotton Bowl.....the field surface is turf.

Not a frequent poster, but since moving out of Ohio, buckeyeplanet has become my primary source for OSU football news. Love the forums here, and I'm looking forward to making the 2 hour drive to watch the Sugar Bowl.

I couldn't find a better "newbie" area to ask this question. Is there information on the recruiting threads? What causes a player to get their own thread, and are they ever removed? Several times I've looked for a player's thread and was unable to find it. Most recently I was looking for Duron Carter to get a better picture of how he went from tOSU, to Coffeyville, to wherever... Was his thread removed, or am I just unable to find it? I've searched and manually browsed the first 5 pages.

If a recruit signs with Ohio State, then his thread is moved to the main football forum. Once a player leaves Ohio State, his thread goes into the Alumni forum. The threads of most other recruits (that is, those who don't sign with Ohio State) usually remain in the Recruiting Forum, unless a former recruit becomes topical as a college or pro player (for example, Sam McGuffie).

In any event, your best bet is to use the search function, which actually works very well over here, as opposed to many other sites.

More specifically, search by title. Click search above, in the dropdown menu check the 'search by title' box, then type in duron.

If you just search for duron without that checkbox, it will turn up every thread he's in (WR discussion, offense, keith wells, recruiting tidbits, etc), not just his thread.

edit: I missed FCB's post, so this is a bit redundant, but I'll leave it here as a detailed walkthrough for anyone who didn't figure it out.

So i finally had a chance to sign up on here. It's because of how classy THE OSU fans on Hogville have been that I've opted to join your home, hopefully to repay the respect in kind.

As you could probably see, my name is Douglas and I am a recovering alcoholi.... uhh... I'm the Hogville.net Webmaster. (Save the complaints about how the main site looks... I'm working on a better look, haha!). Been part of that site for over 7 years, and a fan of the team for 6 (Don't ask how that happened... prior to me joining Hogville, I wasn't even a collegiate sports fan. Now it's CFB or die, haha!).

Just like every other slack jawed yokel has probably espoused, I'm looking foward to our game in just a few short days from now. I've said that I honestly expect this to be a close game, given how well our two respective coaches run their teams on the field. It's a pretty evenly matched up, and I expect that the final result will be 10 points or less.

Anyway, nice place and y'all have a very classy base of fans. You have NO idea of how refreshing it is from an Administrator's standpoint to actually not have to spend time banning trolls. We've all enjoyed actively discussing things with a little fun trash talking thrown in. :)

Stay classy, folks. I, for one, really respect that. :biggrin:

Well Im new to the site but Im a lifelong Buckeye fan! I have lived in Pensacola Fl most of my life but im from Ohio and will ALWAYS consider the great state of OHIO my home! Ive been looking for a site that allows me to get away from all the SEC garbage and allow me to talk respectable college football and express opinnions and not be blasted because my team isnt the popular choice in the area. It seems like this will be a good fit for me. Just a quick praise to everyone, Its really awesome to see fans from other teams talking real high of this page. Hold your heads high because it says a lot about the character of the page. Go Bucks!:oh:
