in the mind of SEC homers, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Arkansas are "tough games" and those teams would be BCS bowl teams if they played in any other conference

[sarcasm] They are all Southern Schools blessed with Southern Speed. Ohio State would be lucky to have a winning record with that kind of schedule.[/sarcasm]

Gentleman, last year I heard the same thing about our schedule, but the final Sagarin ratings had UF 4th and tOSU 46th toughest. True, we do not play Miami this year. But then, our conference SOS was the most difficult...your conference SOS was - 6th.

CONFERENCE CENTRAL MEAN SIMPLE AVERAGE TEAMS

1 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 78.31 79.08 ( 1) 12
2 BIG 12 (A) = 77.86 77.80 ( 2) 12
3 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 77.70 77.67 ( 3) 12
4 PAC-10 (A) = 76.14 75.39 ( 4) 10
5 BIG EAST (A) = 75.23 74.11 ( 5) 8
6 BIG TEN (A) = 73.21 73.49 ( 6) 11

So that was Sagarin. And you can say that he is full of it, but what you do not have is clear bragging rights on SOS for either individual or conference reasons. How this year works out, we will see.

That is true. But you have to play a whole season to accomplish anything of value, like a conference championship or BCS victory, and the OOC thing is only one factor.

I guess I'm just saying that I'll wait to the end of the year and see how it goes before I agree with you on a light SOS. I hope to have an SECCG in there too against a top 15 foe.

You poor bastards have to put up with the skunkbears hurting your SOS last year.:(
