But that guy calling the Music City Bowl a home game for Kentucky is just plain wrong. Nobody in Tennessee gives 2 shits about Kentucky football. Hell, now that basketball season started, people in Kentucky don't even realize the 'Cats had a bowl game. Same with Bama at the Ind. Bowl. Those rednecks are pissed that they went back to a shitty bowl, so they didn't travel like you would expect, and the locals bought up the extra tickets to root AGAINST them.
Yeah, UGA had a huge one, but everyone's hands were basically tied on that. Even Bulldog fans were p!ssed that's who they had to play.
Nobody in Tennessee may give a shit about Kentucky football, but people in Kentucky give a shit about Kentucky football. When Kentucky boarders Tennessee and is a short drive to the game it makes a dramatic difference when 4/5 of the crowd are Kentucky fans. I think you are underestimating the crowd Kentucky brought with them. They set a Music City Bowl record in attendenance and about 4/5 of the crowd was white and blue. Not to mention the advantage in travel time for the team.
The south, in general, benefits tremendously during bowl season. The games are much closer geographically helping southern teams draw many more fans.
