I'm already in the heart of it.... it's going to be a massive shitshow.... multiple counties have already declared disaster areas, my kids had school canceled for the day due to the influx of people in the area and they dont wanna have law enforcement having to worry about schools (whole other thread for that subject). My guess is unless you got someone you know ... you might be SOL unless you're gonna drive there for the day or so....

I know someone who drove to Clarksville, TN during the eclipse a few years back. Said the traffic was out of this world bad.

oh yes... and all the best viewing spots in Texas are in BFE with dirt roads, cattle guards and trigger happy folks.... The State is even kinda like freaking out...

Wife and extended family have been planning this for almost 4 years (major eclipse chasers). Have a house reserved in Mazatlan. Kid and her BF are currently in Mexico City and will be joining them. I'll be enjoying my vacation by sitting at home drinking beer in my underwear.
