So... what's up with the new advertising?

If everyone that took from the site gave a little back, it wouldn't be an issue. You have nothing to be sorry for. Shit happens.

On another note, how do you take a screen shot? I'm semi-retarded.

 Retard

I'm going to change how the ads work in the near future. Wrapping the code that calls in the ads from all those external sites in an iframe so that the rest of our local calls/content aren't held up by slow or non-responsive servers elsewhere.

At least, that's the theory. It may well be that we're only serving ads locally in the semi-near future anyway (if a 'big change' (tm) goes forward), so then it's a moot point as the ads will be as fast as the site.

FWIW, I just had my browser hijacked by an ad on this site, where it went to one of those "Your computer is infected with Spyware and you really really need to click this here button," where upon when I closed that, it popped up another window showing a very Vista like screen running a very Vista like virus checker.

All very funny since I'm running Linux with an ancient X-Windows WindowMaker desktop & Firefox that cannot run any of that stuff. :tongue2:

Anywho, it occured on page load from the Open Discussion Forum, and it ultimately closed my browser completely when I finally got through all three pop-ups.

In other news, Firefox's pop-up blocker obviously sucks.

When I went to the BP Other sorts and pro forum it blocked the forum but my virus blocker stopped it in it's tracks and I just went back and re-entered the forum came up just fine.
