Yeah, mainly a NCAA guy. But that is because I am a dynasty/franchise kinda of guy and the Madden franchise SUCKS! So easy to make trades and sign free agents and build a dynasty in a matter of a year.
But I was a huge Madden fan early while I was in college and was able to play people. Maybe playing online more might get me to buy into Madden.

I typically get Madden a month or so after it releases. I usually create myself in NCAA, and play out 4 (sometimes 3) seasons until my player goes to the draft and then I switch to playing Madden more. Then I just start controlling the team that drafted me. It's been pretty fun playing this way. Only thing I really hate dealing with is all the resigning and contract negotiation crap each year.

I got a copy of Madden yesterday. For the first year I can remember, the gameplay in Madden and NCAA are very similar (I have a 360). Madden is still a little more in depth and complicated, but it no longer feels like a completely different game.
I'm not going to spend the time going into depth right now, but overall after playing NCAA for a month I give the game a mild thumbs up. I was actually disappointed because usually gameplay in Madden is lights years beyond NCAA. Not so true this year. Although one thing is nice, I can actually throw over a DB in Madden. Not true in NCAA. It's nice to be able to throw the long ball again.

They gave both games the same engine this year, that's why they are so similar. They do that (give them the same engine) every 3-4 years.scott91575;903771; said:

Okay, here is my review for the 360.
Gameplay- 9/10
Easily the best gameplay I have ever seen in a football game, EA hit the nail right on the head here when they focused on gameplay for the majority of development. Players will make a cut on a dime after catching a pass (Instead of being taken through an animation). The offensive line actually blocks the correct players, and pulling guards/tackles work their way up from linebackers to safeties. It's easier to complete the deep ball on Madden then NCAA, but it is still hard. Defensively, the players play to their assignments and you can actually run a 3-4 defense this year. Interceptions are still prevalent, but with the right sliders they can be fixed. Fumbling is a huge issue, and no amount of slider adjusting fixes this.
Graphics- 8/10
It feels like a step-back from last year, at least in terms of graphics. The game is much "Muddier" in terms of appearance.
Franchise Mode- 2/10
This is where EA Fails. The scouting feature that they touted doesn't reveal any additional information about a player. When you import a draft class, skill posiition players still lose 8-10 points off speed, while MLB's still have their ratings neutered and are never drafted before the 5th round. Progression is still weak, as I threw for 4,000 yards and 30 TD's with 69 ovr. Troy Smith (Testing things out), and he didn't gain any attribute boosts. In fact, any attributes whatsoever were either small or unnoticable.
Overall- 7/10
The best gameplay, but the worst franchise mode I've ever seen. I'm a franchise guy, so that killed them in my review.

I bought Madden for this first time this year in a long time, but as Sportsbuck said, best gameplay yet. This one seems to be the most fun as well. Gameplay is much MUCH better than NCAA, but NCAA has an improved dynasty mode which is awesome since it was good to begin with

I would recommend blockbuster. For $8, you get 1 wk rental, 1 wk grace period, they charge you for the game, and you have 4 wks to return it to get that charge back... plus a $1.50ish restocking fee.scooter1369;906318; said:

To each his own... madden is one of the few which I can play forever, especially with the ability to import the NCAA players you recruit & play against.
Note: this was last generation Xbox, as the new madden sounds like it has some serious bugs in dynasty mode.

That's too bad, it seems they overcompensated for the sick speed you could import via Madden 07 on Xbox.
