Ummm let's see... I used to be a seasonal employee for ODOT in College... so they used to send us on "trash Duty"... which means basically driving around and picking up trash along the road, rest area garbage cans and soemtimes adopt a highway... normally we'd get the trash bags... run a road or two and then go have a nap from about 10:30 to 1:30 or so, and then if anyone caught us, we'd jsut say it was lunch... then after that we'd go to an outpost (where they kept extra salt, etc) and park in the salt barns and sleep, and gamble, or whatever.

I use to unload trailers for P&G and when a line would break down we were suppossed to go to another trailer and help out well I would always stack the boxes and hide in the back of the trailer. One time I feel asleep for 2 hours and another time I got caught, but no termination, just a warning.

Sleeping at work is about the only thing I couldn't get away with, but if I really needed a nap I could alway drive home or go out to my car and drive someplace quiet. Most days all I do is sit at my desk and pad my post count.
I've been bad recently. I get to work around 8-8:30 (say I get here at 7:30) and leave by 4:00. If I'm not busy on a Friday I'll sneak out around 2. The only complaint I have is my pay.

A cousin of mine used to go in the stall (home style toilet) and rest his arms and head on the tank, sitting backwards. he could sleep for hours. hell, one time he took a paint can off of the shelve at the hardware store we were doing and sat on it in the middle of the aisle. slept for about an hour.

I worked night crew at a grocery store one summer and we had this guy who would fall asleep stocking the shelves. We would come around the corner and he would be leaning face first on the shelf sleeping. Twice driving home he fell asleep and took out mailboxes on his way home.

Once while driving around the county doing field work, I was between jobs and couldn't keep my eyes open. I pulled over to a shady spot and slept for 30 minutes or so. It was in the interest of safety more than anything - I was nodding off at the wheel.

I've never fallen a sleep at work, but i've walked in on a couple people who had passed out at their desk. One time it was the owner of the company so I so gently beat on his office door to wake him up ,and asked if I had showed up at a bad time

No wonder you agreed with me on not accepting that $100,000 trash offer :)

Years ago in undergrad while working at a furniture store. It was just after exams finished and I was exhausted. I wasn't supposed to work but it was the busy season, none of the other warehouse guys were available and I was it. The owner said I could even sleep, he just needed someone there to help load cars with artificial Christmas trees. I actually grabbed a pillow from the back room, curled up in a corner of the back office and slept. Every 10 minutes I would get called to load a tree into a car. Then back to sleeping.

Never fallen asleep at work although I've been tempted many a time.

My 7th Grade Science Class our teacher had a meeting/conference and had to miss part of the class she left like halfway thru 5th period and a "sub" came in to watch the class. We had lunch 6th and would come back 7th for the second part of the class(class block). When we came back the sub was face down on the front counter/desk. We sat down and just started talking and doing whatever we wanted to. 20 minutes later, our teacher came in. Saw the lady still asleep. And she was like, "Has she been asleep the whole time?" She started tapping the lady on the shoulder...nothing. Then she started shaking the lady and she finally woke up. The sub was in shock and didn't know where she was.

Almost everyday during the summer. I work with an autistic kid and once summer vacation rolls around I get to his house around 7:30 so his mom can go to work and get to sleep in until him and his brother wake up aroud 9:30 or so. Then between the 4 or so hours of therepy we do, I'm hanging out with him at the pool or were playing XBOX.

Damn I wish summer would get here.
