Cincinnati creates hooky hotline

CINCINNATI (AP) — Playing hooky just got tougher for Cincinnati Public Schools students. School officials and city police have created a telephone hot line for the public to report truants. They figure the increased fear of being caught and punished will reduce absenteeism.
“There's nothing better than to have extra eyes and ears out in the community to help combat issues that affect your community in a negative way,” said City Councilman Cecil Thomas, a former police officer who suggested the hot line.

Never would have worked for us, we were always high eating Doritos at someones house. That, or playing quarters at 10 in the morning after skating on a fire drill.
