Single Game Football Tickets Tips

Anyone know how much scalped tickets were selling for last Saturday's YSU game? Thanks.

I got 2 pairs 14b for $70 a piece and 26a for $85 each, but I always wait till like an hour before kickoff. I found some selling at face but they were either south stands or way up in c deck.

Thanks for the info! Were these tix bought from your standard scalper, or did they seem like regular fans with extra tickets to unload? Did there seem to be plenty of people with tickets to sell?

Both actually. There's always tix available. Also, the face value was at an hour before kickoff. Noon games seem to get cheap quicker. If I don't have tix I usually wait till closer to kickoff. I used to pay more hours before kickoff, but I have been pretty lucky lately. Big games are different. I dont even try to buy from a scalper. Those we "usually" buy from local brokers or ebay.

Akron Game Tickets Now on Sale @ hangonsloopy.com!!!

Go to http://hangonsloopy.com/ then click on Tickets!

They went on sale at 10:00am. These are face value for public sale tickets sold by the official Ohio State athletic ticket office. As of right now, there is a limit of only 4 tickets sold per person, but as they start to "run out" they will then limit the tickets to 2 per order, and after that only singles will be sold. After you order your tickets, you can pick them up at the Ticket Office, located in the southeast rotunda of the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm . The Will-Call office at the Schottenstein Center opens at least 4 hours prior to kickoff (8:00am). The Will-Call at the stadium opens at the same time the gates open, which is two hours prior to kickoff (10:00am).

23rd in line

OK, so I wasn't thrilled with the tix I bought online 33B (South stands), so I tried my luck standing in line with the scalpers in hopes of improving my seats. The guy who was 21st in line, got seats in 20A, which I would have been pretty happy with. For the group of 4 of us attending the game, I was able to get seats in 18C. Now, I had 4 other tix to unload (which proved not to be very easy for this game).
At about 10am, I went out to Lane Avenue in front of the Riverwatch Towers with my 4 south stand tix in hand. In a time frame of about 45 minutes only 2 people approached me. Then a police officer approached me asking if I had a license to sell the tickets (of course not). Apparently, without a license to sell tickets, one must be on campus property. I cross Lane Avenue, and try my luck there. By this time, I am basically hoping to get my money back. I made my way to one of the entrances to the parking (tailgate area) just north of the stadium. I did get to see the band march by which was cool. At approx 11:30 I am getting desperate and to the few people who approach me, I am now asking $30 each. When they see where the seats are located they weren't interested, since there were so many other people selling tickets, in probably better locations. Finally a guy approaches me looking for just 3 tickets for himself and two buddies (most other sellers around me only had 2 to sell). He tells me he won't pay more than face value (which at this point, I'm thrilled with!). So after a stressful morning of trying to sell tickets no one wanted, I was able to make it inside the stadium to see the band enter, and meet up with my wife and another couple up in 18C. It has been 19 years since I sat in C deck, and I had forgotten how steep it was up there. The view was actually pretty good, and I must say the field looks incredible! Next time I'll think twice about buying tickets ahead of time on Hangonsloopy.com, unless they are really good seats. Live and learn I guess.

With a 3:30 NW Kickoff....

.....I would assume that the ticket window at the Schott will open at 11:30 as opposed to early in the morning. Although I'll be trying during the week to get my tickets off hangonsloopy, if I don't have any luck I'll go to the Schott and try this method. Seems as though better tix (seatwise) are available on Sat mornings at the Schott.

Anyway, can't wait to get to Columbus.....driving up there on Thursday the 20th for the NW game. I plan on going to see our Volleyballers Friday night....any other "must-see" events that weekend???

Go Bucks!!!!

So is it confirmed (I know with the tix office nothing is) that the tix window opens at 11:30 for 3:30 games. I stood in line for BG last year and at the last minute they decided to do this.

Yes, ticket window opening 4 hours prior to kick off is the written policy, and that is how they handled things all last year (maybe not for NIU, can't exactly remember).

11:30, give or take a few minutes should be when the window opens.

Just A Few Days Away

Unlike some of you guys still living in and around Columbus, I only get the chance to come back home to Ohio about once every couple of years. This year it is for the Northwestern Game and my wife and I are looking forward to it. Still looking for tickets on hangonsloopy.com. So far nothing has opened up for this week. Let me know if you guys hear anything. Leaving out Thursday to head to Columbus.....should arrive on Friday. Anybody heard anything good or bad about the Red Roof Inn just a little ways down from the WHAC? Says its been remodeled....and the good thing is that it is walking distance on Saturday for the game.

WWW.HANGONSLOOPY.COM should be selling the returned tickets either Thursday morning or later in that eveing. If you are not able to get to a computer during your trip to Columbus, program the ticket office numbers into your cell phone (everyone has one these days right?) and give them a call (614-292-2624 or 800-GO-BUCKS) every few hours between 8am-5pm and ask if they have released tickets yet. Last week they went on sale on Thursday at 10am, the week before they went on sale that Thursday night at 8pm. There is no way to tell when they go on sale, last year they went on sale on both Mondays and also on Wednesdays.

Thanks for the Info

Leaving Thursday evening and stopping in Tenn overnight so I should be able to check the website all during the day on Thursday. I'll keep the phone numbers logged into my cell phone. Saw some decent tix on E-bay last night, but with only a couple of days for the mail, I decided not to go that route.

Thanks again......GO BUCKS!!!!!!

FYI

Holiday Inn on the Lane as of right now has 2 rooms available for this weekend. $179/night +tax 2 night minimum. Pricey yes, but can't beat the location! Sorry if I sound like a shill for this place, but the wife and I like it. If this is something you rarely do, shoot, go ahead and splurge. Also, don't you guys think there will be plenty of tix avail for this game? Oh, here is the # for Holiday inn on the Lane: 614-294-4848
