Single Game Football Tickets Tips

That also depends on the kick-off times, though. They don't open the window until four hours before the kick-off, and games like Akron won't be that big of a draw (the scalpers won't be as eager to wait in line, knowing that they likely won't be able to make much money on selling the tickets).

Personally, I wouldn't even wait in line for Akron, I'd just go early (3 - 4 hours) and buy from a scalper/seller. The prices won't be that inflated, if any, for the first three games of the year. The other thing people should realize is that the home schedule sucks ASS this year, with the only guaranteed draw being Wisconsin, and with the only potential big draws being Illinois and MSU (and I doubt MSU will be any good).

I agree. I really only see the Wisconsin and potentially the Illinois game as being a hard ticket to come by. Tickets will be MUCH easier to come by this season.

Not being ranked as the pre-season #1 might have something to do with that as well. Hopefully, tix will be harder to score come November (and not because of who the opponent is).

Unfortunately, I was unable to check things out at the Schott this past game (meetings all morning before kickoff :() so I honestly have no idea what went on Sat. morning as far as Game Day Ticket Sales go.

I did get an e-mail saying that the ticket office was selling 'singles' on Friday, but I have not verified this yet either.

Anyone who went and gave standing in line a shot (@ the Schott :tongue2:), if you could give an update on your experience and what you or your friends might have accomplished would be appreciated.

:wink2:

P.S.

I shouldn't have the same meeting schedule for next week's game or the rest of the Home Games for that matter, so I'll be able to pass info along as in the past.

I just spoke with a girl at the Ticket Office, and while she couldn't give specifics (numbers, seating areas, etc.) she was able to tell me that Tickets to the YSU Game were sold during the week prior to Game Day as well as on Saturday Morning at the Schott Game Day Ticket Sales window.

They currently do not have tickets available for the Akron Game, but she went as far to say, "Keep checking back throughout the week and we might get some before Saturday." (wow...acknowleging that they 'might' have tickets available is actually a huge step forward for the Tix Office :tongue2: )

So, It sounds like tix were purchased during the week and on Sat. morning and that the same will likely be true this week...so if you intend to attend the OSU Akron Game, and don't have tickets as of yet, you should probably plan on calling the Ticket Office each day asking if any tix are available (614-292-2624), and/or prepare to show up at the Schott's door step early Saturday A.M. (6:30...or so is usually good) hoping again for some Game Day Tix to 'come available' .

Good Luck...and

There was another poster in this section that purchased tickets on-line(WWW.HANGONSLOOPY.COM - OHIO STATE BUCKEYES OFFICALLY LICENSED MERCHANDISE & TICKETS) on Thursday evening around 10 PM. I can't find the link at the moment but I did not read this until Friday at 10:30 AM but I was able to buy tickets in the South Stands. I checked Sat. morning and the web still had tickets available and when I went to the Schott to pick up my will call tix there were about 20 people in line at 9:30 still buying tickets. I am hoping this will happen again for Akron. I already have my 2 alumni tix but hope to have more friends join my tailgate session Sat.

Additional Info related to Akron Game

I did a search, but didn't see the particular article posted...anyway:

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : New ticket snafu spoils day for some

Apparently there was a HUGE screw-up by the Ticket Office for the YSU Game this past Saturday. An article in the Dispatch describes how a supposed "computer glitch" caused tickets to be sent to Students and Alumni (about 400) that were already occupied by the Alumni Band...ooops!

But also, those who chose not to be reasigned with new seats at the game and took a refund instead will get free tickets to the Akron Game...making less tickets available for those looking to score seats on Saturday at the Schott Office.

Don't know how big an affect this will have, but...Just an FYI

Well seeing that they are giving most of the people who got shafted a lot of free tickets to the Akron game it may be a little more difficult to get tickets for face value than expected. Still should be a pretty easy time getting scalped tickets for at or around face value though. I am still willing to bet that tickets will be available, just not as many as last weeks game because most of the unsold student tickets from Akron are going to the shafted Alumni.

Testing the Water....

Although I did not attend the YSU game (I live in Georgia) I decided to test the water so to speak and venture onto Hangonsloopy.com and see if there were any available. I was able to view single seat tickets for most of the day on Friday, and then Friday night was able to view side by side tickets in sets of two. One set was in 8AA and the other time they were in 23A. Not bad at all. Again, I was just testing the water for my trip from Middle Georgia up to Columbus for the Northwestern game. Seems like so far there are tickets available. I will be arriving in Columbus Friday afternoon, bringing my laptop with me in hopes of snagging a couple of tix for my wife and I. (Her first ever trip to Columbus for gameday) Obviously if this fails, I will make the trek from my hotel (Red Roof Inn close to WHAC) to the Schott in hopes of getting tix at the window. All else fails....I'll get them from scalpers. Would love to hear anyone with tips or suggestions.

Go Bucks!!!!
