The greatest motivator among college football coaches. The absolute greatest.

Before you disagree, consider that he is the leader of some 80 kids who have played football and sacrificed to get out on the field and win! Now, think about how much of a motivator you have to be to get those kids to quit on their team and themselves. Those motivation skills are off the chart. That's why everyone who knows football is saying:

Give Jim Harbaugh a lifetime contract! He won't let us down!

Well, if you look at your roster and realize you’ve got ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag, it might motivate you to run as many off as you can so that you can load up on more frosh in the hopes that you’ll find something better.

Moving on now and enacting a structured, methodical plan giving yourself time to find the absolute best possible candidate would be the smart move...if you're planning on moving on.

The way signing day shook out for them, I get the feeling Simple Jim is coming back. I cannot imagine they held most of their class together without assurances that most of the staff would be returning.

Either that, or they're pulling a fast one on the kids that signed and Simple Jim and his staff are gone once they "mutually part ways" and he heads to the NFL.

That's Valenti's take. He called Michigan con artists and said that the recruits should wait until February to sign.

I hope it plays out that way, with Jim-Bo bolting to the NFL and all the signees scrambling to get out of their LOIs.

It's really a win-win for us. He stays, we get at least one more year of Simple Jim and Day gets his chance to "hang a hundred" on him. He bolts, they get another wack off their ridiculous high horse and we savor the chaos and hilarity that ensues.

Given the whole "no defensive coaches tweeting on signing day" thing supposedly means the defensive staff are all gone, why wouldn't they have announced it if Jim was gonna be there next year. They don't want those positions open cause then the question of who they're filling them with comes up. Only way harbaugh is there next year is if he can't convince an NFL team to take him. If/when nfl firing/hiring season finishes with harbaugh still in aa they'll announce firing dr blitz and the rest along with an extension for harbaugh. Of course finding a new college coach after nfl silly season isn't the best way to go about things....
