SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Awesome.
I never had a reason to dislike the Chargers, but I kind of hope they sign an agreement with that language so I can laugh at them.
Who goes into a McDonalds or other fast food restaurant, says, "Give me a job. I'll take anything, but just put something in my contract that says that if I'm arrested for things I did in my last job at another fast food place, you can't fire me."
"Oh... you were caught peeing in the milkshake machine. I'd love to fire you for it... you should never have a job in food service, again. But damn, I signed an agreement that says I can't fire you. I guess I get to be the guy who continues to pay the guy who pees in milkshake machines."
I think that's the contract that Ono is trying to get him to sign. Every other school in the country: contracts have language allowing for a with-cause termination for ncaa violations. The Leaders & Best: contracts have language specifically protecting a coach for ncaa violations.

Wait...

What?
Is that as an incentive they're trying to use to bait him to stay?

"So, I know you're accused of peeing in the milkshake machine, and now you're looking to go to another restaurant. How about you sign this agreement that says if you're found guilty, we still can't fire you. I mean, any other president with all this evidence would probably want to fire you, but I seem to be really weird and don't care what the image of my restaurant is, as long as we sell fries, right?"

They can try but they’re still getting the belt.

I hope he goes to the NFL.

Not because I don’t think we can beat him anymore (they have it coming this year considering what both teams have), but because anything that gets their program to completely fall apart I’m all for.

Like I want Jim to go pro, I want multiple transfers, I want recruits to decommit, I want to see them finish with 6 losses, and I want to see it all fall apart after mortgaging their future on this 3 year run.
The bolded couldn't be stated better. I have several friends in town that are TCUN fans (I know, I need to keep better company) and I have said the exact same thing. We can beat Harbaugh and we will with next year's team regardless imo. I just want them to suffer the consequences of selling their souls to the devil.

I'm reading it as Simple Jim is demanding that it be in any contract they offer. If the Regents were to finally grow a spine, put Ono in his place and fire him, they'd owe him the entire 125M. It would literally be a permission to cheat clause.

I'm sure Ono is ready to do this in a moment, so perhaps there are some powers there that are resisting because they know what a horrible look this would be nationally. Hell, Ono would get on all fours and let Simple Jim use his back as a table to sign it.

So, if Simple Jim gets immunity from termination due to any finding that arises from a current NCAA investigation, could he just submit documents to the NCAA investigators detailing everything he's ever done, then claim anything described in those documents was now a "finding" under the terms of his contract and thus unavailable as grounds for termination?

And DFBIA would be right there waxing their carrots watching

I think it's funny that we even have an AD when President Ono has been doing most of the legwork since he's been here.

@ORD_Buckeye will love this gem of double retardation.

Suddenly he's the second coming of Saban (Satan?) because of one year when everything came together for him, including OSU cooperating with uncharacteristic futility in certain areas. So much stupid out there.

A mere chance at maybe being one of the top 12 teams every year does not even approach Saban 2.0. If it did, there would suddenly be several Saban 2.0's every year.

Harbaugh is guilty and he knows it, that's the only reason to have these clauses that literally nobody has ever demanded before.

Even as Jim Harbaugh meets with NFL teams about coaching opportunities, specifically the Los Angeles Chargers early this week, he remains engaged in discussions with Michigan about a contract extension that includes unusual termination clauses should he choose to stay in Ann Arbor, according to industry sources.

Specifically, sources said Harbaugh is seeking language that would grant him immunity from termination from any finding or sanction that could arise from multiple current NCAA investigations into the football program.

Harbaugh is also seeking a delay in the start date of the new contract to maintain a lower buyout that NFL teams would have to pay Michigan to hire him away. The buyout in his current contract dropped from $2.25 million to $1.5 million on January 11. Michigan is seeking that to rise to about $4 million in a new deal. Harbaugh has sought to have the new deal not start until Feb. 15, thus maintaining the lower, and more favorable, buyout number until after the NFL hiring cycle has concluded.

Harbaugh is seeking a matrix of fines be spelled out if there are any future NCAA violations as well as prohibiting the school’s athletic director from firing him “for cause” and instead having that decision, should it ever arise, rest in a three-member arbitration panel, sources said.

"He's always going to be somebody I'm proud of who coached the University of Michigan, who led this team," Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said after the national championship game. "And if he decides that he wants another opportunity to coach in the pros, then I'm going to be happy for him. Sad for us. We're going to move on and find the next person to lead. But I want him to stay at Michigan. I've said it. I believed it three, four years ago when people wanted me to get rid of him. I didn't because I believed it then and I believe it now."

Just sayin': Harbaugh who previously claimed to be loyal to scUM (wants to stay) and not guilty of any NCAA violations; wants it both ways: 1) you can't fire me for cause and you can't raise my buyout if some NFL team offers me a position. You can't make this shit up. Everyone knows he's guilty of NCAA violations and wants a NFL position (i.e. he's a chronic liar). Any self respecting University President and/or Athletic Director would just fire his ass.......

Will someone please translate this for DFBIA so they know this means - " He doesn't want you!"

They will never get it. In their minds Harbaugh is not appreciated and just trying to get everything he "rightfully deserves" all while in the midst of the NCAA/B1G witch hunt because everyone is jealous of him!
